General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that everyone’s waiting on a pivotal moment in Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) and Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) storyline. GH fans know Nelle is Nina’s biological daughter, but when will the secret come out? General Hospital is seemingly getting closer to that long-awaited bombshell since Nelle took the half-heart pendant to court with her.
Will Nelle’s good luck charm truly be lucky? It might be if Nina spots that half-heart pendant while she’s on the stand. If Nina’s planning to side with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and essentially trash Nelle, a glimpse of the necklace could turn things around. Nina might decide telling the truth means insisting that Nelle deserves another chance.
However, there’s another option here that’s definitely worth considering. There’s no guarantee Nina will actually see that half-heart pendant during her testimony.
Nina might admit to the judge that although Nelle’s a great employee, she can’t support her custody bid. There’s a difference between someone who can make appointments and someone who’s capable of caring for a child.
Nina might infuriate Nelle by betraying her on the stand and set up an explosive confrontation after the judge’s ruling. Nelle’s counting on Nina to be her secret weapon – her last hope of securing custody of Wiley. What if Nina ends up being the main reason Nelle loses instead?
If Nelle’s own character witness won’t even back her up, that’d say a lot about all the doubts regarding Nelle as a mother.
The half-heart pendant could come into play AFTER the judge rules. Let’s say Nelle storms over to confront Nina once court is adjourned. Nelle might even throw the pendant at Nina during her rant.
It’s easy to imagine Nelle unleashing her fury and walking away – leaving Nina to pick up that pendant and realize Nelle’s her long-lost daughter.
That’d bring some major challenges for Nina, who’d certainly want to connect with her flesh and blood! If Nina tried to run after Nelle and bring up their mother-daughter link, Nelle might shut her down. Perhaps Nelle could suggest that even if it’s true, she doesn’t need a backstabber like Nina for a mom.
