General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) recently made a huge realization – that Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) was Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) long-lost daughter.
But it doesn’t look like Carly is going to run right to Nina and divulge the truth. Rather, it appears that Carly will go to Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) with her discovery, and that the two friends may conspire to keep the truth from Nina.
Jax will certainly know that if Nina finds out that Nelle was her daughter, then she’s going to want to get to the bottom of how Nelle died – and that could end up implicating Carly big time.
There’s probably no way that Nina would ever believe that Carly didn’t push Nelle over that cliff, and Jax will know it. Plus, Jax will probably think that Nina would be better off never knowing who her daughter was as opposed to knowing that it was someone like Nelle.
Well, Carly and Jax may conspire to hide the truth about Nelle being Nina’s daughter, but secrets always come out eventually, and if Carly and Jax aren’t careful, someone else could spill the beans.
Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West), for example, could have seen the half-heart pendant that Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) has been wearing, and she could end up inadvertently giving Nina a clue that she might run with.
When the truth does eventually come out about Nelle being Nina’s daughter, we suspect that the end of Nina and Jax’s relationship will be right around the corner.
Once Nina figures out that Jax withheld information from her – and withheld it with Carly of all people – she’ll be furious and that will probably be the end of that relationship.
And that will be the moment that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) has been waiting for. As GH viewers know, Valentin still is very much in love with Nina, and he’s been waiting for the opportunity to swoop in and help Nina out once Jax disappoints her.
Once Valentin hears that Nelle was Nina’s daughter, he’s probably going to make a big suggestion – that Nina make some sort of claim on her grandson Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson).
Valentin’s all about custody these days, so he might even suggest that Nina go after visitation rights or even partial custody of Wiley.
And at that point, Nina might just accept Valentin’s help to do so – Nina could get Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) on her case and go after custody of Wiley, all with Valentin’s emotional support. It would be Valentin’s “in” back into Nina’s heart.
We’ll see what happens here, but we suspect that Valentin will definitely have an angle once he hears that Nelle was Nina’s daughter, and that Jax will become a part of Nina’s past!
