General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) could soon have a real situation on her hands. As GH viewers know, Nina is on the verge of testifying on behalf of Nelle Jerome (Chloe Lanier) in Nelle’s custody case against Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). Nina’s definitely got a soft spot for Nelle right now, and she doesn’t even yet know that Nelle is her daughter, but that revelation seems to be coming soon.
Nelle has been holding and fiddling with her half of the heart pendant as she’s been in court, and it’s probably only a matter of time until Nina sees it. It should be interesting to see what happens when Nina finally lays eyes on the pendant – it could be while she’s in court and in the process of testifying when she seen Nelle holding the pendant, which could make for some dramatic scenes.
Well, assuming that Nina does find out that Nelle is her daughter, then that’s probably going to lead to some tense moments between Nina and Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher). Jax has made no bones about the fact that he’s squarely on Michael’s side in the custody dispute.
Jax routinely takes Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) side in any argument over Nelle, and he clearly dislikes Nelle and all the things she’s done in the past. In fact, one wonders whether Nina and Jax’s relationship will be able to survive the “Nelle factor” once it does become known that Nelle is Nina’s daughter.
Nina will surely want to support her daughter and she’s certainly not going to align against Nelle in the dispute over Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Theo and Erik Olson) by any means.
That’s going to put Nina and Jax at odds with each other big time.
Of course, who else will be waiting in the wings but Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart)? Valentin has been biding his time, waiting for Nina and Jax to hit problems so that he can be there for Nina in her time of need.
Valentin doesn’t like seeing Nina with Jax right now, but he seems pretty confident that something’s going to happen to tear the couple apart.
Valentin probably wasn’t expecting that something to be Nelle, and for Nelle to be Nina’s daughter, but he’ll probably be happy to capitalize on the situation. But Valentin will need to sit back and wait for just the right moment to strike, when he can swoop in and be Mr. Understanding after Jax has refused to accept Nelle as a part of Nina’s life.
If Valentin plays his cards right, and he accepts Nelle for Nina, then he just might get Nina back.
We’ll see what happens when GH picks back up, but it seems reasonable to think that Jax is going to have a big problem with accepting Nelle as Nina’s daughter, and that Valentin could totally use that to his advantage.
