General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that there’s been a lot of buzz about the recent Daytime Emmy nominations, which recognized many wonderful performances by GH cast members. However, we can’t forget about one General Hospital star who was nominated for a role outside the show!
Kathleen Gati always delights fans as Liesl Obrecht, but she also delivered great moments as Connie Hunter in A Mermaid for Christmas on Amazon Prime Video. Gati picked up a nom in the Outstanding Limited Performer in a Daytime Program category – and she couldn’t be more thrilled about it!
On Twitter, Gati excitedly shared the news with her followers. She’s thankful to have this acknowledgement, and so are her fans. Many of us are rooting for Gati, so let’s hope she pulls off a win. Let’s look at what Gabi had to say in her nomination announcement.
“I am so grateful to announce my 2nd #DaytimeEmmys Nomination!” Gati tweeted. “This 2nd Nomination is for my role in @AmazonPrimeVideo #AMermaidForChristmas Profound thanks to #MichaelCaruso and @BarbiCaruso for this incredible opportunity and recognition. #DaytimeEmmys #Emmys #AmazonPrimeVideo”
It wasn’t long until some of Gati’s costars chimed in with words of congratulations. One of those costars was Parry Shen (Brad Cooper), who happens to have something in common with Gati right now. Both of their characters have been locked up and are facing rather unfair situations!
Brad was sent to Pentonville for his role in the baby swap, but he went down all on his own. Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) got away with her part in the switch. As for Liesl, she was framed for Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) crimes and shipped off to The Hague.
Gati thanked Shen for his kind Twitter comments and offered up a funny response in their recent exchange. “Wonderful news! Congrats!” Shen said in reply to Gati’s nomination updates. “Thank you my friend @parryshen !!” Gati tweeted. “Miss you!! How goes jail for you? The food at The Hague prison is just…okay. And you?”
“Taco Tuesdays are alright,” Shen joked back. “But the Nutraloaf on Thursdays are the worst. So… not in the best mood tonight.” It was fun watching these two kid around about their jailbird characters, especially since it’s been a while since we saw Brad and Liesl. Let’s hope they can both get out of their legal jams down the road!
As other GH news and updates emerge, we’ll deliver all the details. General Hospital spoilers say some terrific Nurses Ball classics are coming up now that new episodes have run out.
