General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that we need to talk about Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and this takedown GH writers want us to believe is happening. Peter has been written into a terrible corner, but we’re more inclined to believe they’ll write him out of that corner instead of writing him off the show entirely.
Wes Ramsey seems like a pretty well-liked cast member at General Hospital, especially since he’s Laura Wright’s (Carly Corinthos) significant other in real life.
The problem is Peter’s got a mountain of crimes and needs to pay. You might think there’s no hope for Peter’s future, but maybe there is! Let’s consider some new clues that have emerged about a new story.
GH is on the hunt for some day players who’ll be part of an apparent amnesia storyline. Based on the dialogue in the leaked sides, a married man will experience some memory loss.
A guy named Lenny apparently helps “Seth” try to figure out who he is and suggests checking his wedding band or watch to see if there’s an inscription.
“Seth” admits there’s indeed an inscription on his watch and shows Lenny. The inscription mentions “Alex” and how there’s never enough time. “Seth” seems to be using the “Alex” portion of this as a clue to figure out his identity.
Of course, we should note that names get changed to protect the story all the time. In fact, “Seth” and “Alex” are handwritten as altered parts on the copy of this casting side. However, we can’t help but wonder if the “Alex” part will tie in with Alex Devane Marick (Finola Hughes) – Peter’s presumed dead mother.
It’s doubtful Alex is gone for good, so she should fit back in the story down the road. As for Peter, he seems like a character who could use a memory loss storyline. After all, Peter won’t have any more secrets if he can’t remember them!
If Peter battles amnesia, it presents the opportunity for him to forget all the awful things he’s done and be absolutely horrified when he finds out the truth. It can highlight Peter’s remorse and set the stage for a true redemption.
This clearly disguised “Seth” character could be Peter. As we mentioned, there are casting calls for people connected to this storyline – like this helpful guy named Lenny.
“Seth” toys with his wedding band at one point in the casting sides, so Peter might face an accident or attack after his marriage to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) – one that leaves him unable to remember Maxie or his criminal history.
Although that wouldn’t erase Peter’s bad behavior, having him forget would offer a fresh start in a way. This could offer a redemptive path forward. Whatever the case, there does seem to be an amnesia story in the works for a married male character.
