General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that one ABC soap alum recently made a big announcement – and it affects her future in Port Charles. GH fans have always loved Robin Scorpio’s (Kimberly McCullough) visits to PC, but McCullough has shifted her career to directing. In fact, she said that she “retired from acting” in a new Instagram post.
McCullough reflected on everything that’s happened to her over the last decade. She’s had some tough times as well as some amazing experiences, so she wanted to look back and share her thoughts with her followers. McCullough definitely crammed a lot into the last 10 years!
“This decade I … Picked the right guy, lost a baby, had a baby, found my Jack, moved into my dream home, got my DGA card, worked with talented and kind people, retired from acting, became a Ojai mom, received a hand written note from Kyle MacLachlan and directed 25 episodes of television,” McCullough said. “It’s been a wild ride and I’m grateful.”
That sounds like a wild ride indeed, but the “retired from acting” part is bit of a bummer for General Hospital viewers. Most of us would like to see Robin Scorpio back in Port Charles from time to time. She was a GH staple for many years and has remained a fan favorite.
Fortunately, there’s always hope. When Jane Elliot left the role of Tracy Quartermaine behind, she seemed pretty much done with acting as well. Now Tracy has returned for a short-term arc, so you just never know how a person will feel down the line.
McCullough would likely make another General Hospital comeback if they really needed Robin for a new story – and they just might one day!
For now, it’s great to see McCullough thriving in her personal life as well as this new professional path. She seems quite content with her beautiful family and fantastic career. We wish McCullough all the best as she continues to pursue projects that bring her joy and excitement.
