General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kobert) may get too close to the wrong woman! On May 18, Cyrus will run into Ava Jerome (Maura West) and most likely deliver some compliments. No one does phony charm quite like Cyrus!
Ava will actually look a bit flattered, so it seems Cyrus will get a little flirty and leave Ava feeling good about herself – at first anyway. Of course, Ava won’t feel the same way once Cyrus reveals who he is. Cyrus Renault has already become a name that’s associated with danger in Port Charles.
Ava knows Cyrus is the reason Laura Collins (Genie Francis) took a bullet and faced a brush with death on the pier. Cyrus was also behind the demise of Trina Robinson’s (Sydney Mikayla) father, Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews), so Ava’s fully aware that Cyrus is bad news.
Cyrus has already been harassing Laura and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), so he could begin harassing Ava, too. However, that could actually be a risky decision for Cyrus. Could Ava’s most wicked former flame make Cyrus a target? Naturally, we’re talking about truly twisted Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom).
Sometimes the best way to take down a villain is to let an even more powerful villain get the job done. When it comes to baddies, Cyrus is playing in the sandbox compared to Ryan. Cyrus is the kind of guy who gets his goons to handle shootouts that fail. He doesn’t seem to like getting his hands dirty.
Ryan, on the other hand, has carried out many successful murders on his own. He doesn’t need help to be the deadliest man in Port Charles – at least when he’s free.
If Ryan gets wind of Cyrus hitting on Ava, he’s not going to like it. Cyrus’ interest in Ava would be a completely different situation than Ava’s marriage to Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).
Ryan’s still locked up tight, but he’s probably heard about Ava’s husband by now. Since Ryan’s a smart guy, he probably sees this marriage for what it was: Ava’s brilliant strategy for gaining great wealth and power. Ryan likely assumes the marriage is loveless and admires Ava for being so manipulative.
It’s doubtful Ryan would feel the same way about Cyrus, whose interest in Ava could be genuine. Cyrus is also a villain – albeit a less formidable one. This is the kind of thing that could make jealous Ryan’s blood boil. Ryan would hate the idea of Cyrus stepping up as some pale imitation of him.
If Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) finally comes through on the Ava photos and updates she promised, that’d be an easy way for Ryan to spot Cyrus and Ava together. Nelle should really think about delivering on that promise since she’s got a young son to protect.
The last thing Nelle needs is to be on Ryan’s bad side – just in case Ryan takes his freedom by force.
Ryan could easily escape and make Cyrus one of his targets. The timing would actually be pretty great since Nelle is Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) bio daughter, and that big reveal is coming up on General Hospital.
Ryan killed Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin), Nelle’s sister! Nelle needs to find out her former prison pal robbed her of a chance at that sibling connection she craved.
There’s also the matter of Ryan’s stolen kidney and the GH team that made that possible. Ryan undoubtedly has another hit list just waiting to be checked off. Cyrus could be at the very top of it if he doesn’t back off Ava.
