General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) will receive a disturbing phone call during the week of October 5-9. Who will be on the other end of it? It’s possible Ava will face a threat of some sort – or even that this will be related to all the blackmail drama.
However, it’s also possible that Ava will receive a phone call from a familiar and terrifying GH character – one she’d rather stay buried in her past.
It’s always been strange that General Hospital hasn’t included Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) as part of this “Nava” marriage story. If there’s anyone who needs to weigh on Ava and her new husband, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma), it’s obsessed Ryan.
Ava was his queen! Ryan worshipped the ground Ava walked on and felt like they were two of a kind.
You can bet Ryan’s been sitting behind bars stewing about how Nikolas is all wrong for Ava. Ryan thinks quite highly of himself, so there’s really no one who can compete with him in terms of a partner for Ava.
Even though Ava hates Ryan, that only seems to light Ryan’s fire in a way. Ryan has been fixated on Ava ever since they were first getting together, so there’s no chance he’s forgotten while he’s locked up.
If Ava’s phone call is from Ryan, she’ll have to decide whether she’d accept the charges and see what he wanted. Just the thought of Ryan contacting her alone is enough to be disturbing.
Even if Ava turns down the call and refuses to listen to whatever Ryan has to say, a phone call from him would weigh heavily on her mind.
Of course, it’s possible Ava could accept a call from Ryan and wind up summoned for a chat. Ava might reject that visit and make Ryan determined to see her no matter what. This would be a great time for include Ryan in the story again for a couple of reasons.
For starters, this blackmail mess is going to blow up sooner or later. Once those betrayal kiss pictures come to light, Ava and Nikolas’ marriage will be hanging by a thread. Their feelings they’ve developed will take a backseat, so GH will need a way to bring them rushing back.
Danger seems like the best strategy to do that – and the timing is perfect since Halloween is just around the corner. Perhaps this phone call during the week of October 5-9 will be what kicks off a dangerous arc and leads to a Halloween climax. If Ryan goes after Nikolas, Ava might intervene and prove her love.
Then again, Nikolas may get another hero moment like when he pulled Ava out of the water – way back when Nikolas first resurfaced in town and crashed Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) wedding to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
GH viewers will recall how Nikolas burst in with Ava in his arms, which was an exciting and romantic beginning to this “Nava” storyline.
Whether Ava saves Nikolas this time around or finds a hero in Nikolas once more, this might serve as a turning point for this married couple. Do you think Ryan will unleash Halloween terror? Could Ryan’s escape set up some scary moves and the realization of what Ava and Nikolas truly feel for each other?
