General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) is probably going to be royally fuming soon, if he’s not already. As it stood when the new GH episodes left off, viewers hadn’t seen Ryan for a while, but he’s never really out of the game.
After all, he has his beloved Ava Jerome (Maura West) to pine over, and he’s still as obsessed with Ava as he ever was. But as GH viewers know, Ryan was supposed to have a key person on the outside keeping track of Ava for him…Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier).
While in Pentonville together, Ryan and Nelle became acquainted, and when Nelle was getting ready to leave the prison, she promised to be Ryan’s link to Ava on the outside.
The deal was that Ryan would get news and maybe even an occasional picture of Ava from Nelle, but it doesn’t seem like Nelle has kept up with her end of the bargain.
Of course, it’s possible that things have occurred off-screen, but it seems that Nelle has been way too busy with her own life to worry about Ryan’s needs right now.
And if Ryan hasn’t been getting updates from Nelle about Ava, then he may have the wrong idea about Ava’s marriage to Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).
It’s a bit unclear exactly what kind of news Ryan is allowed to see in the confines of Pentonville, but he might have seen a snippet or two about Ava’s marriage to Nikolas. And if he hasn’t yet, then he probably will once Ava and Nikolas have their little soiree to celebrate the unveiling of Ava’s portrait in Wyndemere.
As it’s been made clear on the show, Ava has been publicizing the heck out of the upcoming soiree, going so far as to play up Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) sordid past in the press, since Franco is the artist who has painted Ava’s portrait.
That’s bound to catch the eye of Ryan, since he can’t stand Franco. And when Ryan does learn that Ava and Nikolas are throwing the soiree as a supposedly happily married couple, he’s not going to be happy at all.
Of course, if Nelle was doing her job and keeping tabs on Ava like she was supposed to, then Ryan would probably know that Ava and Nikolas’ marriage was totally platonic.
But Ryan will probably just assume that the marriage is real in every sense of the word, and that’s going to make him absolutely livid. Ryan’s anger tends to “slow burn” until he can’t contain it anymore, so he might start having revenge fantasies about killing Nikolas for being with Ava!
Now, there won’t be much that Ryan can do about the situation while in Pentonville, so Nikolas should be safe for now.
But we could see Ryan take out his frustrations on someone else, much like he did with one of his prior cellmates whom Ryan killed with a pen after Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) took away Ryan’s only picture of Ava from his cell.
Who knows, some unsuspecting inmate could die once Ryan finds out about Ava’s marriage!
