General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) is headed down a dark road. GH fans know Sasha fought hard to make sure Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) ultimately married Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen). Sasha was even willing to fake an affair with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) to push Michael and Willow into tying the knot.
However, reality hit Sasha hard once the plan worked. Sasha was so upset that she ran out when Michael confronted her. She just couldn’t handle Michael’s anger, but the kindness that came later wasn’t much better. Sasha was equally upset over Michael being to nice to her after Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) injured her nose.
Although Sasha didn’t really cheat on Michael, she knows he still thinks she did. The fact that Michael was still being so compassionate highlighted what a great guy Sasha was losing. Sasha even admitted to Chase that until she actually lost Michael, she didn’t realize just how in love with him she was.
Of course, it was also news to GH viewers! General Hospital didn’t take the time to give Michael and Sasha’s relationship much depth before all this went down. Even after they got more serious, things still felt more casual than they should.
Chase’s pain is believable since GH writers were willing to go deeper with Chase and Willow. With Sasha, it almost seems like she’s overreacting now. Michael certainly hasn’t seemed that broken up about Sasha’s betrayal – not like Willow’s been about Chase’s side of things.
In fact, Michael appeared quite happy to be marrying Willow, even if he isn’t in love with her yet.
We get why Sasha’s upset, but is General Hospital going a bit overboard here? Is losing Michael really worth a drug addiction? It’s understandable that Sasha would be miserable – just as anyone would be after a tough breakup.
Even so, it feels like Sasha’s sorrow is falling flat somewhat. It’s just tough to buy the idea that Sasha would be devastated enough to spiral out of control.
That obviously seems to be the route GH is taking since Sasha accepted another vial of drugs. Sasha may end up addicted, but she really needs to get a grip. There are plenty of fish in the sea! It’d be better for Sasha to wallow in her sorrow for a bit, dust herself on and move on like the strong woman we’ve come to know.
