General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that one ABC soap star has been dealing with some social media hate. GH fans know Scarlett Fernandez as Charlotte Cassadine in Port Charles. Fernandez does a wonderful job portraying Charlotte – and most of us have been enjoying seeking her sneaky side!
Charlotte caused some snake mayhem at Violet Finn’s (Jophielle Love) birthday party, so she’s certainly proving she’s her father’s daughter. Charlotte is proving to be quite devious like her papa, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), which will actually become a crucial part of the story soon. Valentin will have to dial back his influence and make sure Charlotte gets on a better path.
Of course, all of the Charlotte drama is fun to watch. It’s just entertainment, but some General Hospital viewers have been targeting Fernandez over her character’s actions. For whatever reason, they can’t seem to separate fiction from reality.
Fernandez simply says and does what the scripts tell her to, so it’s really not that hard to understand! It’s ridiculous for some people to bully an innocent kid over the role she plays, but that’s apparently what’s happening. “Makes me sad when people can’t tell the difference between real life and acting,” Fernandez said on Twitter.
It wasn’t long until one of Fernandez’s young costars chimed in. “Get used to it, sister,” Nicolas Bechtel (Spencer Cassadine) replied. He added a pensive face emoji to express his disappointment. It’s a bummer that some fans can’t be a bit nicer – especially to kids. This is all fictional, so there’s no need to send hateful messages to anyone.
Thankfully, Fernandez’s tweet also scored praise from fans who know what’s real and what’s reel! “You are doing a great job!” one viewer insisted. “Charlotte is going bad girl mode & people like to get all up in arms with the bad guys & gals on tv. But – without them – tv drama would be dull.” Another fan said, “don’t listen to the crazies. Most fans think you are doing an amazing job…”
“You’re a sweetie and we thank you for helping to make our story interesting and entertaining,” said one more GH viewer. Soaps definitely need troublemakers – and Fernandez is fantastic at bringing mischievous Charlotte to life! Of course any fan who attacks an actor for the role they play doesn’t belong on social media – do you agree?
