General Hospital (GH) spoilers for the week of August 10-14 tease that a new sneak peek sets up one big not-so-happy family. Let’s look at what’s happening in the episode that airs Monday, August 10.
In a new GH preview video, Ava Jerome (Maura West) needles Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) about whether he’ll divorce her before joining the just married Jeromes!
First, Ava talks to Nikolas on the elevator at the Metro Court. When Ava notes that Nikolas is unusually quiet this evening, Nik admits he finally heard back from Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel). Ava wonders if Spencer’s willing to accept their marriage or if Nikolas is going to leave Ava and his fortune behind.
Meanwhile, Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) slides the check over to Julian Jerome (William deVry) and tells “sweetie” that he knows how to spoil her. “How can I spoil you when you’re already rotten?” Julian asks. He also slides the check back over and reminds Nelle that lesson number one of holding somebody hostage is footing the bills!
Nelle makes it clear to Julian that until the ruling comes down, they need to be seen as the happy, thriving couple that they are. As Ava approaches, she contends that Nelle needs to look those words up since they clearly don’t mean what Nelle thinks they mean.
Next, Nelle encourages Ava to congratulate her on becoming Ava’s sister-in-law and flashes her new bling. Once Ava sends Nikolas away, she sits down with Nelle and Julian. General Hospital spoilers say Ava’s going to have plenty of questions about how Nelle blackmailed herself into the role of Julian’s wife!
This sneak peek video sets the stage for a sister-in-law showdown as well as bigger drama that’ll come later. Right now, part of the fun is knowing one crucial fact the characters don’t know – and that’s the fact that Nelle is Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) biological daughter.
Of course, that also makes Nelle and dead Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin) sisters through their deceased father, Silas Clay (Michael Easton).
Ava and Nelle actually used to be friends once upon a time – and they’re actually a lot alike. They’re both schemers and they both have husbands who’d rather not be married to them.
General Hospital has turned Nelle and Ava into enemies again, but will that change eventually? It just might once Ava realizes there’s another link to Kiki in this world!
It’ll be interesting to see how Ava handles the Nelle and Kiki revelation down the road. In the meantime, we’ll have tons of GH updates and news to read up on.
