General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) recently addressed a concern that some fans expressed following a recent Instagram post. Burton does a Stone Cold and The Jackal podcast with Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli), so they often use that to take questions and offer up answers to GH viewers.
During a recent Facebook Q&A, Burton cleared up some confusion about his recent farewell to Port Chuck. You might recall that Burton was in a band with Anderson as well as Scott Reeves (ex-Steve Webber on General Hospital), Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny Zacchara on GH, currently playing Jake Lambert on Days of Our Lives). Port Chuck was the name of that band, but some fans misunderstood.
When some viewers feared Burton was leaving Port Charles and the role of Jason Morgan, Burton quickly shut down that idea. “People misconstrued that I was leaving the show,” Burton said. “So Port Chuck and Port Charles? Not the same thing, technically. Port Chuck is the band, Port Charles is the city in which I’m staying for a very long time!”
Anderson talked about how Port Chuck got its name – and it turns out it comes from a former GH star. Since that’s what Anthony Geary (ex-Luke Spencer) started calling Port Charles, they settled on Port Chuck as a fun band name.
It’s easy to see how there might be a bit of a mix-up, especially since Burton’s farewell post talked about looking back on an amazing ride. If you weren’t in the loop on the band, it makes sense that you might be a little fearful!
Fortunately, there’s no need to fret since Jason Morgan will keep entertaining us according to Burton himself. That confirmation was something Anderson approved of, too. “So Steve is not leaving,” Anderson said. “That’s good news for everybody!”
As for what’s ahead on the ABC soap, General Hospital spoilers say Jason will have a lot to juggle. He’ll try to find time for his romance with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), but he’ll also have to worry about Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) latest mess along with a new plan that’s forming with Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor).
