General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos) recently offered up some behind-the-scenes info on some exciting scenes. Many GH fans were glued to their screens as Carly and Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) had an epic final faceoff, which led to Nelle’s inadvertent fall from the cliff’s edge.
Wright had a blast filming that showdown and had high praise for Lanier after she made a decision that was wise beyond her years. In a recent issue of SOD, Wright discussed watching her fantastic stunt double along with Lanier’s equally terrific stunt double.
It led Wright to reflect on a mistake she made earlier in her career – one that Lanier opted not to make herself!
“I just remember my days of being super-excited to do stunts and I watched that and I went, ‘Uh, no, I am so glad I’m not doing that anymore!’” Wright insisted. “I mean, tackling to the ground? That would have hurt so bad!”
Wright admitted those scenes involved stunts that she would’ve taken on herself earlier in her career at Guiding Light and even on General Hospital. Now Wright just leaves the stunt work to the professionals – and she’s impressed that Lanier already does the same.
After Lanier suggested she wasn’t interested in doing the stunts herself, Wright wished she’d been that cautious and wise years ago. “I was like, ‘You are so smart!’ Why didn’t I do that at her age? I was doing it all, and we’re not trained for that!” Wright admitted.
As for the showdown itself, Wright felt like it was a great conclusion to the Nelle-Carly saga and argued that it needed to be something huge like that.
Of course, we’d say Wright shouldn’t be so sure that was the end, but it definitely put a nice pin in things until Nelle most likely make a shocking return down the road. Nelle’s supposedly dead, but she’s proven she’s a tough pest to get rid of!
