General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that fans are anxious for new episodes to begin again. And since we’ve had some down time recently, we’ve been thinking about some things we’d like to see when the new, original episodes pick up again. Of course, there will be pressing issues to resolve, like how Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson) custody hearing will turn out, and Mike Corbin’s (Max Gail) death.
We’re looking forward to getting some resolution to the cliffhangers that left off, but there are also some other things that we’d like to see when the show picks back up – things that aren’t exactly pressing stories but could definitely be incorporated into the show that would be refreshing.
A Solid, Powerful Storyline For Kristina
First off, it would be great to see Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) get involved in a compelling, meaty story. Sure, Kristina was a major player in the Dawn of Day storyline a while back, and it was of course great to see her on canvas so much, but we’d really like to see her in a storyline where she’s not a victim.
It would be especially refreshing to see Kristina in a real romantic relationship – and, by the way, where did Valerie Spencer (Paulina Bugembe) go?
At any rate, it would be great to see Kristina get more screen time, and perhaps it can be established that she’s grown and learned something from her DOD experience.
It’s always good to see characters grow and develop, and we’d especially like to see Kristina do more than just being a sounding board for Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), or dealing with her own victimization.
Some Intriguing Drama For Dev
Next, it would be good to learn a bit more about Dev Cerci aka Dev Corbin (Ashton Arbab). Dev was front-and-center in the teen storyline there for a while, and the issue of his possible deportation kept him on the front burner as well.
But then Dev kind of dropped off for a while, and at the point where the new GH episodes left off, he wasn’t seen much. One wonders about Dev’s biological parents and whether there are any relatives out there looking for him.
It seems like it could also be possible for Dev to get wrapped up in some of the Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) drama. Given that Cyrus wants to cause as many problems for Sonny as possible, he could try to ensnare Dev somehow and even threaten his status in the country, since Dev is in the US illegally.
There seem to be a lot of possibilities for Dev, from long-lost relatives tracking him down and causing trouble, to problems brewing in his supposed father/son relationship with Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor).
Neil & Alexis Actually Acting Like Adults
Another refreshing change on GH would be for Neil Byrne (Joe Flanigan) and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) to finally just get together and start acting like they know what they want.
There seems to have been a lot of miscommunication issues and self-sabotaging going on in their relationship (or whatever one calls what they have). Clearly, they want each other, and since there seems to be no medical board standing in their way anymore, they should just get on with things.
Yet, we’ve seen Neil and Alexis continue to dance around their feelings and let Julian Jerome (William deVry) come between them. It’s time for Neil and Alexis to just have a relationship already and be happy.
Sure, they can have conflict just like all soap couples have conflict, but can they at least get on with their relationship and stop moping around about it?
Ava Actually Being Tempted To Cheat On Nikolas
As GH viewers know, Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) and Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) are engaged in a platonic marriage that was more of a business decision than anything else. And as part of the post-nuptial agreement, Ava and Nikolas agreed that if either of them cheats during the marriage, then the other one gets the bulk of the Cassadine fortune. The only real problem with this premise is that Ava really doesn’t have anyone to tempt her into wanting to cheat.
Nikolas seems to have an interest in Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), and Ava is slowly but surely pushing Nikolas in Elizabeth’s direction. But there’s really no one for Nikolas to push Ava towards right now, other than Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth), and that seems like nonstarter.
Wouldn’t it be great if Ava actually had some hot man on the scene that she really wanted, so that she’d actually be in some jeopardy of losing the Cassadine fortune? We think so.
A Real Love Interest For Brook Lynn
Finally, it would be great to see Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) get her own man – and not someone else’s man, like Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson) or Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard).
For a while there, it seemed like Brook Lynn and Chase could become an item, since Brook Lynn has ended up clocking Chase on several occasions and he’s arrested her more than once. But Brook Lynn is a strong character and she needs someone equally strong who’s not on a rebound and who really wants her.
Right now, Brook Lynn seems stuck in a rut where she keeps getting mixed up with the wrong people and with the wrong things. There’s been Linc Brown (Dan Buran), her sleazy producer, and now she’s getting caught up in Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) schemes.
It would be nice to see Brook Lynn stop making critical mistakes and enjoy some success with a supportive guy at her side for a change.
Well, that rounds out our list of things we’d like to see on GH when the show finally returns. What would you like to see happen on the show once new episodes start airing? Stay tuned to the ABC soap and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest General Hospital spoilers, updates, and news.
