General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Thursday, August 20, tease that the Nurses Ball will continue with more performances and surprises. Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) will offer a reminder about the entertainment serving as a “thank you” for all those donations that are pouring in.
The telethon to support frontline workers seems to be going well. Everyone’s doing their part, even those who are having some fun on stage.
Of course, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) will have an ulterior motive when his number kicks off. Valentin was clearly jealous over Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) big dance number with Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher), but this is Val’s chance to one-up his rival!
It looks like Valentin’s going to belt out a tune and tickle ivories in hopes of winning Nina back.
Valentin’s plan may tug at Nina’s heartstrings, but she’s obviously not going to dump Jax over a musical performance. If Valentin wants to reunite with Nina, he’ll have to work harder than that!
In the meantime, Valentin will have a warning for someone. Thursday’s GH preview video shows Valentin saying, “If you’re wise, you’ll join me.”
Valentin already urged Peter August (Wes Ramsey) to come clean to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). A child changes everything according to Valentin, who heard Maxie’s pregnancy news along with everyone else over her hot mic.
Valentin may have a few other words of wisdom to pass along to Peter or it may be someone else who gets this warning. Either way, Valentin’s advice will probably be ignored!
As for Nina, she’ll encourage Jax to stay out of it, but what is it Nina wants him to stay out of? This might involve Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) since Nina would certainly like to put some distance between Jax and his ex.
Jax may be concerned about Carly due to the Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) situation, but Nina might think Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is doing just fine as his wife’s protector.
Whatever the case, Sonny will get some info on his phone soon enough. Carly will ask if that’s a text from Turning Woods, so there may be some difficult updates regarding Mike Corbin (Max Gail).
The end is drawing near for Mike, so Sonny’s essentially waiting on his father to die. Mike should hold out a bit longer since Sonny has more updates headed his way next week. Nevertheless, losing his dad like this will reman a brutal ordeal for Sonny.
Elsewhere, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will talk to Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) about Maxie’s baby shocker. Anna will insist it’s the best possible news, but she’ll still have something troubling on her mind.
Based on Anna’s recent flashback, she remains uneasy about the possibility that Peter is actually Alex Devane Marick’s (Finola Hughes) son, not her own.
Over with Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan), General Hospital spoilers say she’ll rant to Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson). “She deserves whatever she gets,” Lulu declares in Thursday’s preview. Lulu will undoubtedly still be fuming about Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Briana Lane), who pulled Dustin in for a kiss backstage.
Although Dustin set Brook Lynn straight, he cares about his ex and may worry about where she dashed off to. Brook Lynn was already concerned about blowing her performance, so this incident isn’t doing her any favors right before she’s about to go out on stage.
Fortunately, it looks like “BLQ” has regained her composure and found her courage, so she should go out there and show Dustin what he’s missing! The downside is Brook Lynn will find herself in a dangerous situation a little later.
We’ll see if Dustin’s forced to come to Brook Lynn’s rescue or Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) might intervene.
Speaking of Chase, he’ll struggle as he watches Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael Corithos (Chad Duell) together. Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) will face some struggles of her own, so her drug usage may get worse.
As for Ava Cassadine (Maura West), she’ll tell Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) to break a leg – perhaps literally since they’re clashing more than ever these days. Still, there are some feelings under the surface that’ll continue to complicate things.
Ava and Nikolas will likely discuss how they’ve been manipulating Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth). Liz is set to overhear a conversation that proves quite enlightening, so here’s her chance to find out what Nikolas and Ava have been up to!
In Nelle Benson Jerome’s (Chloe Lanier) dressing room, she’ll have some instructions for Julian Jerome (William deVry). Nelle will keep an eye on that tracker and tell her new husband how the rest of the night’s going to play out – at least as much as Nelle wants Julian to know.
“Tonight is going to be my greatest performance yet,” Nelle promises.
Nelle doesn’t seem like the type to do a song and dance routine, so we’re betting on a magic act. Perhaps Nelle will want Julian to make her disappear so she can escape with Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson).
Julian may pull that off in a different way if he ends up kidnapping Nelle before she can snatch Wiley.
Nelle’s trick may take a wrong turn by the end of the week, so stay tuned. General Hospital spoilers say some major bombshells are brewing in Port Charles! CDL’s your hotspot for fantastic General Hospital spoilers, updates and news, so don’t forget to pop back in soon.
