General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, July 2 – Dante Kisses Valerie – Deadly Gun Showdown – Michael Returns Avery to Sonny

General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Thursday, July 2, tease that the ABC soap has a memorable classic coming up for fans. GH will re-air an episode that was first seen on June 29, 2015. General Hospital spoilers say this encore contains a big moment for Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), so here’s what’s in store.

Just outside Nina Reeves (Michelle Stafford) and Ric Lansing’s (Rick Hearst) hotel suite, Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills) skulks in a bathrobe and listens in on their conversation. Nina’s rattled over Madeline’s release from prison and wonders if Ric helped her. Ric denies assisting Madeline and provides a distraction so Nina can’t see her mother’s purse nearby.

Nina’s concerned about her fortune and whatever Madeline might be plotting. Ric insists he can thwart Madeline’s attack and suggests they go flaunt their relationship to Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) at the restaurant.

Afterward, Ric catches up with Madeline and wants her gone before they get back. Madeline agrees and nudges Ric toward getting Madeline’s power of attorney.

At the Metro Court, Franco jokes with “Denise DeMuccio” (Maura West) about squishing their names, but she’s mostly focused on Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) and Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin) at the bar. However, Denise remains all in on pretending to be a couple.

As Morgan looks over, Denise plants a big kiss on Franco. Kiki ends up inviting Denise and Franco to join them for dinner, which Morgan isn’t happy about. After Denise steps away, so does Morgan.

That leaves Kiki to gently grill Franco about the new woman in his life. Morgan’s worried Denise might get hurt, but Franco insists they’re the real deal. The news pleases Kiki, who’s hopeful that Denise will help Franco get over Nina.

Back with Morgan, he corners Denise and begs her not to date someone as dangerous as Franco. Denise isn’t keen on talking and tries to leave, but Morgan grabs her hand. Denise pulls out of Morgan’s grasp and makes it clear that what they shared is behind them.

Once Morgan and Denise rejoin Franco and Kiki, Denise requests Michael’s phone number so she can set up a visit with Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola). When Franco sees Nina enter with Ric, he draws Denise into a passionate lip lock. Nina ends up making a similar show of steamy affection with Ric.

Since Nina’s distracted, Ric takes his chance to present the power of attorney document. Nina’s too busy ogling Franco and Denise to read it, but she goes ahead and puts her signature down.

Back with Denise, she leaves Michael a voicemail about seeing Avery tomorrow. Denise talks about feeling a connection to the daughter of her “twin” and is eager to see her “niece” soon.

Meanwhile, Michael surprises Sonny when he shows up with Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) and Avery. Michael insists he’s there to give Avery back and will have the judge transfer custody in the morning. After Michael praises Sabrina for helping him understand this was the right thing to do, Sonny gets choked up.

Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) is also surprised, but Michael shares how he arrived at this decision and knows he mostly wanted to punish Sonny before. Although Michael still wants to protect his little sister, he understands it was wrong to rip apart Avery’s family. Carly’s apologetic for hurting Michael and expresses how proud she is of him.

Michael warns Sonny about keeping Avery safe and doing right by her. After Michael shares a tender farewell with Avery, he gives her back to Sonny and leaves with Sabrina. Sonny gives Avery a bottle and is reluctant to put her to bed, but Carly insists Avery will still be there in the morning.

At Sabrina’s place, she distracts Michael from his sadness with lovemaking. When they’re done, Sabrina notes that Michael can stay over so he won’t have to wake up alone without Avery. Across town, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) surprises Valerie Spencer (Brytni Sarpy) with a kiss at the loft. Valerie pulls out of the lip lock to ask what Dante’s doing.

Dante can’t stop thinking about Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) and Dillon Quartermaine (Robert Palmer Watkins), but Valerie doesn’t think Dante’s the kind of guy who cheats. She doesn’t want Dante to battle regrets that cost them their friendship.

Valerie reassures Dante about being a great husband and father before leaving. In the corridor, Valerie breathes deeply and collects her thoughts.

In British Colombia, Lulu and Dillon are hoping for Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) updates. After Lulu notes that Dante’s been cold and distant, she considers calling Dante. Lulu ultimately rethinks it since it’d mean more lies. Dillon keeps Lulu’s mind off her Lucky worries by letting her read a screenplay, which she teases him about.

Next, Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) pulls a gun on Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) and Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) in their hotel room. Laura and Luke have their own guns on Holly, who’s in the dark when they ask about Lucky.

Holly lowers her weapon and points out that Ethan Lovett (Nathan Parsons) was kidnapped. Luke realizes his sons were abducted as part of the same plot.

Someone from an unknown number calls Laura with a disguised voice and is happy to know Holly arrived. The kidnapper vows to call back with updates tomorrow and disconnects.
