General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 18, reveal that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) chatted about the Nurses’ Ball in the Quartermaine living room as Michael picked up Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson) toys.
Willow was excited to make her debut as Michael’s wife, and she rushed off to get ready for the Ball.
A short while later, Michael and Willow took off, leaving Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) looking after Wiley. Monica noted that the nanny had the night off, so it was just herself and Wiley alone in the mansion together.
Meanwhile, on the pier, Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) looked at the tracking app on her phone and told herself that this would be a night that Michael and his family would never forget.
At GH, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) sat with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) in his room. Sam showed off her Nurses’ Ball t-shirt, and she made Jason promise that he wouldn’t try to leave the hospital while she was tied up at the ball. Jason promised, and Sam took off.
Over at Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) and Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) place, Curtis fussed at Jordan to hurry up and get ready for the ball, and soon Jordan’s phone rang.
Jordan asked Curtis to check the number, and he said it was an unknown caller. Curtis answered the call, but the person on the other end of the line hung up. Jordan brushed it off.
At the Metro Court, the red-carpet show for the Nurses’ Ball got underway, with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) emceeing.
Nina and Carly explained that the entire budget this year was going to HIV/AIDS related programs, and that the objective for the evening was to raise funds for front-line workers. Nina and Carly also explained that guests would work the phones to take donations, so things would be a little different.
Soon, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) arrived and did some more explaining about how the ball was going to be a telethon this year, then Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) was the first to walk the red carpet, decked out in his Nurses’ Ball t-shirt.
Valentin noted that Deception would be matching all donations made at the telethon, and Nina seemed impressed by this. Valentin smiled big at Nina, who seemed a little flustered.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) came in next, referencing that he comes every year in the memory of Stone Cates (Michael Sutton) and for Robin Scorpio-Drake (Kimberly McCullough). Sonny said that he had pledged to double all donations.
Next came Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth), who answered questions about his recent portrait unveiling. Carly mentioned that the internet was on fire with Franco’s past work being in a resurgence.
Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) came in next, and Nikolas needled Franco about where Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) was.
Franco looked unnerved, and Carly snarked at Ava about the portrait disaster, but Ava held her own. Nikolas walked off, and Franco offered some supportive and kind words about Ava to the cameras.
Backstage in a dressing area, Lucy found Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) feeling glum, and Lucy gave Maxie a pep talk about going out there and being bubbly.
Back at the red carpet, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Briana Lane) walked in, telling Carly and Nina that she was going to debut a song that would be used for the Deception promotional campaign.
Outside, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) chastised Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth), telling him that he’d better be nice to Brook Lynn inside. Olivia and Ned then walked inside, and Olivia said a few words about supporting front-line workers for the cameras.
Then Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) walked up and openly flirted with Olivia. Ned stepped to the side and rolled his eyes.
Sam and Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) walked the red carpet together, and Spinelli explained that he set up the phone banks and the donation software for the event.
When asked if he was solving any mysteries lately, Spinelli said he was after a “sinister wolf hiding in sheep’s clothing,” but Sam quickly shut him down and ushered him away from the cameras.
Near the bar/drink area, Franco called Elizabeth, who was at GH, to say that he missed her. Elizabeth snipped that some people at the hospital had seen his red-carpet entrance, and that he “seemed to have plenty of admirers.” Elizabeth then cut the conversation short, upsetting Franco.
Finally, Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) and Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson) walked in, and Dustin told Nina and Carly that he had co-written the promotional song for Deception that Brook Lynn was going to perform. Carly and Nina gushed over Dustin, as did Lulu.
Back at the hospital, Elizabeth entered Jason’s room, talking a mile a minute about Franco and how he should leave the past in the past. Jason got worried and thought that perhaps Franco was going back to who he was, but Elizabeth said that Franco wasn’t regressing.
But Elizabeth did note that Franco was nostalgic for fame and success, and that Ava was using it. Elizabeth then decided that she needed to go to the telethon, and she took off.
Back at the Metro Court, Willow and Michael made their red-carpet entrance and were all happy together. Jordan and Curtis were next, and they noted how much they appreciated being able to support frontline workers at the telethon.
By the bar/drink area, Sonny told Sam that he thought Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) had faked their affair, which surprised Sam.
Nearby, Willow and Michael gushed about Wiley, while backstage, Nelle tracked Wiley on her phone. Spinelli walked up to Nelle and learned that Nelle was performing at the ball, then Nelle wondered if it made Spinelli’s skin crawl that Maxie was with Peter August (Wes Ramsey).
Nelle said that Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) told her a lot of sketchy things about Peter. Spinelli stopped in his tracks.
Back on the red carpet, Maxie and Peter arrived, and Nina complimented Maxie on the great job she was doing at Deception. Elsewhere, Sam and Sonny talked with Willow and Michael about how married life was going.
Both Willow and Michael beamed and said Wiley was at home fast asleep. And Ava told Franco that she was all over his new resurgence as an artist.
Nikolas and Lulu had a moment together as well, and Lulu wanted to talk with her brother about his scheme to thwart Ava. Nikolas told Lulu that the scheme was over, and that Ava had overheard her talking and busted him.
Over near the bar/drink area, Jordan and Curtis were talking when Jordan got a text and said she had to go. Curtis looked suspicious.
Franco and Ava were settling in to man their phones for the telethon when Ava noticed Julian Jerome (William deVry) and spoke with him. Julian said Nelle dragged him there, and that she’s planning something.
Ava returned to Franco and Franco told her that after the way Nikolas threw Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin) in her face that she should give Nikolas hell. Elizabeth overheard this.
Back with Nelle and Spinelli, Nelle blurted out that Peter orchestrated Drew Cain’s (Billy Miller) kidnapping in Afghanistan, and that Shiloh had intended to use that information to get released from prison. Nelle went on, saying that Shiloh was overseas with Peter, and Spinelli ran off urgently.
Sam was settling into a telethon booth when Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) walked by. The two exchanged brief words, and Brando agreed to stay out of Sam’s way. Nearby, Michael and Willow got ready to start the telethon as well, gushing more about going home to Wiley later.
Back at the Quartermaine mansion, Monica noticed Wiley’s stuffed kangaroo on the floor in the living room, and she promptly took it up to Wiley’s room.
Meanwhile, at the Metro Court, Julian found Nelle backstage and squabbled with her for a bit, while Robert and Olivia made small talk elsewhere. Suddenly, Spinelli rushed up and needed a word with Robert.
Miffed, Robert broke off his conversation with Olivia and Spinelli told Robert, “We got him!” Spinelli explained that Nelle spilled the tea on Peter, and that she can connect Peter and Shiloh.
Robert listened intently while Spinelli said that Shiloh blackmailed Peter, and that Peter was behind Drew’s original abduction in Afghanistan…and that’s why Peter was on the docks with money for Shiloh. “This is it – we can finally take him down!” Spinelli said.
Elsewhere, Lulu asked Maxie if she had told Peter about her pregnancy yet, and Maxie said no just as Peter and Dustin walked up. Finally, the red-carpet coverage ended, and Carly and Nina announced that the Nurses Ball performances were about to begin.
At the pier. Jordan waited for someone, while she flashed back to calling someone on her burner phone a while back. Suddenly, a man walked up toward Jordan, but viewers only saw his feet. “Looking pretty good…for a dead man,” Jordan told the man.
Back at the Metro Court, everyone settled into their telethon booths and got ready to answer the phones, as Lucy took the stage and the Nurses’ Ball telethon began.
Lucy walked out on stage and told the cameras that the Ball would benefit HIV/AIDS as well as front-line workers. “Get ready to donate – The 2020 GH Nurses’ Ball Telethon is just getting started!” Lucy said.
