General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Tuesday, August 18, teases that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will join forces as they cohost the Nurses Ball together.
Although this year’s event won’t be quite as stylish, there’s no reason to skip the red-carpet arrivals! As the guests strut in wearing their matching 2020 Nurses Ball T-shirts, Carly and Nina will ask them some questions.
Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) will look excited as they enter for the big bash. Of course, Jordan and Curtis’ blissful bubble could burst the moment they run into Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober)!
Cyrus is bound to be lurking around there somewhere, so that could lead to a confrontation with Jordan and Curtis eventually.
Over with Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan), she’ll be ready to have a blast with Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson). Unfortunately, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Briana Lane) could cause some drama for Dustin and Lulu before this party wraps up!
Speaking of drama, there’s been plenty of that going down between Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) lately. Since Olivia’s so fed up with Ned, it looks like she’ll opt to make Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) her plus one.
Part of Olivia may be hoping to get under Ned’s skin, but it looks like she’ll genuinely have a nice time on the red carpet with Robert.
During Robert’s interview, he’ll allude to his options and how he’s keeping them open. Perhaps that’ll be Robert’s answer about his love life! Whatever the case, Carly and Nina will keep the fun going as the arrivals continue.
Unfortunately, they may run into some trouble once Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) shows up with Ava Cassadine (Maura West).
After Ava blew up at Nikolas over his plot with Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel), Nik insisted he was “sick of this demented carnival ride.” Nikolas wants to get off this marriage rollercoaster, but Ava has no intention of letting him. Instead, Ava will expect Nikolas to grin and bear it at this long-awaited event.
Of course, we should note that Ava and Nikolas are obviously dealing with some complicated feelings. Nikolas and Ava leaned in for an offscreen lip lock recently, so there’s more to the story here.
It sounds like Ava and Nikolas will have to come to grips with how they really feel eventually – but not tonight. Nikolas will be rather flippant with Ava, so they’ll definitely get on each other’s nerves.
Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) will save Ava from having to do a red-carpet interview alone, so that could bring some close moments. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) will also make a red-carpet appearance, which might leave Nina uncomfortable.
It seems Valentin will have a tux to change into for an act later. Valentin will talk about rising to the occasion – and he’ll probably do it through a song.
Nina’s always had a weakness for Valentin and the tunes he belts out, so Valentin will use that to his advantage. He’s apparently got a number planned that he hopes will woo Nina once again.
In the meantime, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) will spot Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and strike up a conversation with her. Sasha and Chase understand each other like no one else at the moment.
That’s because Chase and Sasha both sacrificed so much through their fake affair scheme. The loss of their respective relationships will remain difficult to cope with – especially once Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) hit the Nurses Ball together.
Seeing Willow and Michael out doing something couple-y will be tough for Chase to watch later this week.
As for Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier), she’ll check out that tracker app of hers backstage. Nelle’s eager to snatch her son and get the heck out of dodge, but she has to play it cool.
This is all about waiting for the right opportunity. That opportunity could indeed be looming if Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson) is left home with a babysitter.
However, Damian Spinelli (Bradford Andeson) could present another problem for Nelle. When Spinelli appears in a dressing room, he’ll seemingly interrupt Nelle’s tracker snooping.
That tracking device was placed in the pouch of Wiley’s favorite toy kangaroo, so she certainly won’t want Spinelli to get a whiff of what’s going on.
Nelle might make up an excuse or simply tell Spinelli it’s none of his business. Regardless, Nelle won’t let nosy Spinelli deter her from her goal of a getaway with Wiley.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will deal with some doubts during his time at the Nurses Ball. Whether that ties in with Cyrus or something else, Sonny will definitely stay on guard.
At GH, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will have a sweet chat. If you’re a Kelly Monaco fan, you’ll certainly want to tune in on Tuesday!
Lindsay Hartley did a great job filling in as Sam, but it’ll be nice to have the real deal back. Monaco will reclaim the role and reignite the sizzling “JaSam” chemistry that so many fans love.
Jason will speak with Sam about a deal that she can take or leave, but the mood will be cheerful. General Hospital fans know Jason disapproved of Sam’s agreement with Valentin, but what’s done is done.
At least Sam can spend time with Jason without sneaking around now. Maybe Jason’s offer will involve accepting what Sam did, even if he doesn’t like it.
On the other hand, Sam might push Jason to do something with her once he’s released from GH. That could lead to some negotiations and Jason’s playful declaration that Sam can take it or leave. No matter what Jason has in mind, Sam will take it without hesitation.
After Sam parts ways with Jason, it appears she’ll make her way over to the Nurses Ball to enjoy what’s left of the night. This shindig will be an interesting one this year, so don’t miss it!
