General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Tuesday, June 23, tease that some tough moments are ahead for several Port Charles residents. “JaSam” week will rev up the drama with an episode that first aired on November 10, 2004. General Hospital spoilers say this encore will pack in plenty of heartbreak, so let’s look at what’s in store.
At Wyndemere, Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) is forced to leave Emily Quartermaine (Natalia Livingston) alone with Connor Bishop (Tyler Christopher). Although Nikolas isn’t comfortable with the idea, there’s no other choice since he has to get over to GH.
The plan is for the stem cells from Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) baby to save Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Emma and Sarah Smith), so Nikolas wants to be there for support. Once Nikolas is gone, Emily changes a bandage for Connor and learns about his high tolerance for pain.
Connor discusses the war and mentions feeling to blame for a buddy’s death after he wakes up startled from a nightmare.
Meanwhile, Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) tries to get to the bottom of what Lorenzo Alcazar (Ted King) will do if Carly Corinthos (Tamara Braun) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) break up. Lois suggests that she wants to see if Alcazar will go back to Carly. If so, Lois hints that’ll mean Alcazar isn’t over Carly and perhaps never will be.
Back with Sonny, he finds Alexis as she frets over Kristina in her hospital room. Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) shows up and warns that Sonny shouldn’t be there. After Rick shows Sonny the restraining order, Sonny tears up the paper and exits in a huff.
Although Alexis isn’t thrilled about how Ric chose to handle this, but she knows she has to concentrate on Kristina for the time being.
After Michael Corinthos (Dylan Cash) hears bad news about the baby, Carly takes him to see Sonny. Michael chats with Sonny in the GH chapel and learns Sonny isn’t mad about the loss. Sonny tells Michael that sometimes it’s best to let it go when you lose something precious to you.
Next, John Durant (Corbin Bernsen) surprises Carly with her old house, which he’s purchased for her as a gift. Carly’s hesitant to accept it, but she eventually does. Michael recalls this home being where Carly and Sonny once broke up, so he’s wary of staying there.
After Carly warns she may not be able to put things back together with Sonny, Michael insists that he’ll stay with his dad. Carly makes it clear that Michael and Morgan Corinthos (Dylan and Jordan Cline) will have to stay with her if the relationship can’t be repaired.
Over with Jason, he gets some advice about how to handle Sam’s trauma. Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) has lost a baby before, so she tries to help as best as she can.
Liz doesn’t think Sam should pack up the nursery by herself, but she doesn’t think Jason should do it ahead of time either. It might make Sam feel like the baby had never existed, which would only add to her pain.
Later, Jason tells Sonny that he wants to be the one to give Sam updates on the tragedy. Sonny begins to grasp just how much Jason cares about Sam. In Sam’s room later, she finally awakens and asks about her baby. Jason’s forced to tell Sam that her baby died, so Sam bursts into tears and crumbles in Jason’s arms.
