General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 8, reveal that Dante Falconeri (Dominick Zamprogna) was in his room at the WSB facility in Geneva doing pushups as Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) entered the facility.
Robert and Olivia met briefly with a former colleague of Robert’s who told Olivia privately that Robert must love her very much.
That flustered Olivia a little, and soon Dante’s physician Dr, Kirk (Christopher Cousins) showed up and didn’t want Olivia to see Dante. Olivia persisted, and Dr. Kirk decided to allow Dante to decide if he wanted to see her.
Olivia, Robert, and Dr. Kirk approached Dante’s room, and Dante heard his mother’s voice from the hall. Dr. Kirk entered Dante’s room, but Dante didn’t want to see his mother for her own protection.
Olivia went to the door and poured her heart out to Dante, saying that she knew he was trying to protect her, and that she believed he’s perfect just the way he is. Olivia begged Dante to open the door, but Dante wouldn’t do it, nor would he speak to his mother.
Robert comforted Olivia, and they left, with Olivia in pretty bad shape. Olivia thought that Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) had been right all along, but Robert said that at least Dante knew that she was waiting for him.
Robert wanted to book a flight back to Port Charles, but Olivia insisted that they were going to Holly Sutton’s (Emma Samms) memorial. Olivia said that she couldn’t help her son, but that she could help with Holly, and that their next stop was the memorial.
Later, Dr. Kirk went into Dante’s room and Dante said that he needed to do some work before he could see his family.
At the Metro Court, Julian Jerome (William deVry) approached Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) wanting to know where Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) was, since he wanted to end his marriage to Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier).
Valentin advised Julian that he was better off staying married to Nelle, since spouses don’t have to testify against each other.
After Julian took off, Peter August (Wes Ramsey) walked up to Valentin to say that he needed help concerning Nelle, and that if Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) got hold of what Nelle knew, he’d be a dead man.
Peter didn’t provide details, but he said that Nelle disclosed damaging information to Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson). Valentin told Peter to live his life, and that he’d do what he could on his end to keep Jason at bay.
At the hospital, Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) talked with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Jason in the ER. Brando learned that Jason and Sam believed that he didn’t sabotage Jason’s motorbike, and that they had run surveillance on the garage.
Brando wondered what was next, and Jason said to sit tight and that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) would protect him.
Sam and Jason stepped away and decided to wait to tell Sonny about Brando’s attack so that Sonny could spend time with Mike Corbin (Max Gail). Jason took off, and Sam spoke again with Brando, apologizing for judging him and divulging that her past isn’t stellar.
After Sam left, Brando got flowers from Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and a card offering his assistance.
At the nurses’ station, Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) talked with Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) and brought him some chicken parmesan. As they were talking about Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) trip to Washington DC, Cyrus wandered up and wondered when Laura would be back.
After Cyrus pestered Lulu and Kevin for a while, Lulu learned that Cyrus fired Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) and Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson). Lulu was horrified.
Kevin stepped off to take a call, and Cyrus needled Lulu about her old life of adventure. Kevin returned and told Lulu that a colleague of his passed away. Cyrus curiously asked it was a member of the hospital staff, but Kevin said that it was someone Cyrus didn’t know.
Cyrus left, and Lulu learned that it was Neil Byrne (Joe Flanigan) who passed away.
Soon, Sam walked up and learned from Lulu and Kevin that Cyrus fired Monica and Bobbie. Sam was upset by that, and she took off. Kevin and Lulu wondered why Cyrus had such an affinity for Laura, and Lulu thought that Cyrus had an affinity for their whole family.
In another area of the hospital, Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) quizzed Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) about Neil’s psychological state prior to his death.
Alexis insisted that Neil didn’t do drugs, and Jordan revealed that the ME’s preliminary report was that Neil died of an opioid overdose. Soon, Julian appeared and learned what happened to Neil. Julian offered his support to Alexis.
The ME showed up to talk with Jordan, and she told Jordan, Julian, and Alexis that she found a puncture wound on Neil but no defensive injuries. Alexis couldn’t believe it, and she said that she’d prove that the ME made a mistake. Alexis left, followed by Julian.
At Sam’s place, Jason met with Spinelli. Spinelli rehashed his conversation with Nelle at the Nurses’ Ball and told Jason about how Nelle backed up their suspicious about Peter being blackmailed by Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin).
Jason balked, saying that no one would believe Nelle’s word, and then Spinelli played Jason the surveillance footage of Peter calling someone and saying that Nelle was running her mouth.
Jason urged Spinelli to get hard, irrefutable proof if he wanted to persuade Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) that Peter was no good.
Spinelli took off to try to track down the person on the other end of Peter’s phone call. Later Sam arrived and told Jason that Monica and Bobbie had been fired and she thought that Jason probably thought it was her fault.
At Alexis’ house, Julian and Alexis searched the bedroom looking for evidence that Neil injected himself with drugs. Julian found a syringe under the bed, shocking Alexis.
Finally, at Cyrus’ home, Cyrus was reading when Jordan knocked on the door. “Why did you murder Neil Byrne?” Jordan demanded. Cyrus smirked.
