General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Nelle Benson Jerome’s (Chloe Lanier) connection is sure to make waves in Port Charles. Nelle is Nina’s biological daughter, so that shocker will ultimately become public knowledge. After the necklace and DNA proof come into play, Nina can start trying to bond with Nelle as her mom.
However, there should be people lining up to tell Nina what a terrible idea this is. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) may be one of the first to warn Nina about her new nightmare daughter.
Although Valentin and Nina aren’t a couple anymore, there’s a lot of love left between them. There’s still a faint spark whenever Nina and Valentin are in scenes together.
Valentin would give just about anything to be with Nina again, but he’s tried to accept they’re over – at least for now. Of course, that doesn’t mean Valentin will stand by and watch Nelle manipulate her new mom. Valentin knows exactly how Nelle operates, so he’ll undoubtedly corner Nina and push her to that she has to stay on guard.
There’s a chance Valentin will even urge Nina to cut Nelle out of her life. Valentin understands how much Nina has longed for her daughter, but Nelle won’t be much of one in his eyes. He may suggest that Nina’s bound to get her heart broken all over again.
Nina was devastated when she found out Valentin roped Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) into posing as her fake biological child. Since Nelle is the real deal, it could hurt even more if Nelle betrays Nina.
Valentin will likely feel confident that one way or another, Nelle will indeed commit a betrayal. Based on Nelle’s GH history, it’d be fair for Valentin to make that prediction!
Naturally, Nina probably won’t listen to Valentin or anybody else. Once Nina knows Nelle is her daughter, General Hospital spoilers say it’ll rev up Nina’s maternal instincts.
Nina will want to protect Nelle and cultivate the glimmer of good she sees in her. That probably means Valentin will have to keep a close eye on Nelle and try to thwart whatever drama Nelle might cause.
Will this lead to more conflict between Valentin and Nina? Will Nina feel like Valentin’s overstepping and only seeing the worst in her daughter? Nina should be in protective mode when it comes to Nelle – at least until Nelle indeed betrays her! Valentin may be proven right at some point. As other GH news rolls in, we’ll pass along updates.
