General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that one ABC soap star is speaking out about a storyline that he absolutely loathed. On Twitter, one fan shared a clip from back in 2002. It was when Ned Quartermaine – then Ned Ashton (Wally Kurth) – claimed to be the father of Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) baby. Ned lied to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), and Kurth didn’t like it one bit!
Since Kurth was tagged in the tweet, he decided to share his thoughts on Ned’s actions. “Hated, hated, hated this story,” Kurth admitted. “Ned steals another man’s child? Especially from Sonny, the Hero of GH.”
Of course, some fans might disagree that a mob boss and murderer is a hero, but there’s no denying that Sonny is at the center of the show. General Hospital consistently keeps Sonny as their central figure, so he’s certainly a beloved character.
That’s why Kurth felt confident this story decision would lead to the destruction of his own.
“I knew it would destroy my character,” Kurth said. “And it did. I was fired two years later….” Fortunately, all’s well that ends well! Sonny now knows he’s Kristina Corinthos-Davis’ (Lexi Ainsworth) dad – and he’s been a good one.
Ned overcame that character destruction and is happy with Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero). He’s also become a big part of all the Quartermaine drama at ELQ lately. Speaking of that ELQ drama, it’s bound to get worse on upcoming GH episodes.
Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) now knows Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) has been plotting a takeover, but can she stop what he’s set in motion?
Valentin seems awfully determined, so it’s doubtful Brook Lynn can make much of a difference in the ultimate outcome. GH has invested a lot of time and energy into Valentin’s push for control, which means there should be a payoff.
