General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that we’re in for a week of shockers, and the new GH promo for the week of March 9 is aptly titled “Shock Week.” First off, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will reel after hearing that Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) has been arrested for the murder of Drew Cain (Billy Miller) and the attempted murders of Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) and Andre Maddox (Anthony Washington). Maxie definitely didn’t see that one coming!
Of course, as GH viewers know, Obrecht is totally innocent of the charges, having been framed by Peter August (Wes Ramsey). Peter just has to keep framing others for crimes and manufacturing evidence as Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) keeps snooping and getting closer to the truth about him. Well, now it seems that Anna will give up on her quest to look into Peter’s behavior, since she’s found that Obrecht is the supposedly guilty party.
But we’ll see if Maxie and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) will ultimately let this thing rest. Maxie will be heartbroken by Obrecht’s alleged wrongdoing, and she’s shown in the promo telling Anna and Finn that “it was right in front of me and I didn’t see it.” Little does she know that the real murderer/attempted murderer is indeed fright in front of her…in the form of Peter!
Next, the new GH promo addresses the ongoing Nelle Benson Archer (Chloe Lanier) saga. It’s a quick flash, but it looks like Nelle will run her mouth over at Charlie’s Pub in front of both Julian Jerome (William deVry) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen). Willow is shown dousing Nelle with a drink, so it’s no telling what Nelle said that brought this on.
Of course, Willow needs to be careful, since anything she does at this point could be used against Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) in family court. Nelle is planning on suing Michael for custody of Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson), and it could get ugly fast.
The new GH promo also indicates that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) will be involved in the action this week, as they’re shown in a split-screen still during the promo. Jason and Curtis will probably be pretty preoccupied with the mob war situation that’s going down with Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
And speaking of Cyrus, he’s shown in the promo staring glibly at Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) as she screams at him, “What do you want?” Right now, there seems to be no end to the terror that Cyrus will impart onto the city of Port Charles and to the people who Jordan cares about. Of course, since TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) is currently unaccounted for, there’s probably a good chance that Cyrus has got him.
Perhaps Jordan’s visit to Pentonville to see Cyrus will be about TJ being missing. At any rate, Jordan looks pretty upset and desperate in the promo, as Cyrus seems to have her right were he wants her. We should note that Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) is shown in a quick flash in the promo as well, indicating that she could be involved in the Cyrus action too. Of course, as someone Jordan cares about, Stella could be a target.
The promo also indicates that Michael and Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) will have a conversation this week. Lucas will probably be missing Wiley like crazy, and he might want updates on how the little guy is doing. It would be great to see these Wiley dads work together to make Wiley’s transition into his new home go smoothly, but that could end up being too painful for Lucas to do.
Finally, the new GH promo for the week of March 9 shows a big showdown that’s been a long time coming…the face-off between Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Brad Cooper (Parry Shen). GH fans will remember that Sonny wasn’t present when Brad made his big confession to Michael and the rest of the family. It looks like Sonny will decide to pay Brad a visit while he’s at a court hearing.
Sonny is shown having a moment alone with Brad and looking at him menacingly, then grabbing Brad and manhandling him while Brad asks what Sonny is going to do to him. It looks like Brad is far more worried about Sonny’s wrath than going to prison at this point, and he probably should be!
It appears that it will be a great week on the ABC soap, so stay tuned! We’ll give you updates as more GH news comes in. And don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest General Hospital news, recaps, and spoilers.
