General Hospital (GH) spoilers preview teases that viewers are in for a heartbreaking week on the ABC soap. Mike Corbin (Max Gail) is a beloved character on the show, and he’s finally succumbing to Alzheimer’s Disease.
It’s been a long and sad road for Mike and his family, and this week Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will find new strength in himself as he gives Mike a final gift – the love and support of his family as Mike passes on.
The new General Hospital preview for the week of September 14 addresses Mike’s final decline. Sonny is shown getting support from Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), and Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) as he struggles to keep it together so he can give Mike his strength as Mike finally lets go.
“I just wish I had more time to make new memories,” Sonny laments softly in the promo, but it seems that he’s also steadfast in his resolve to show Mike that he and the family will be ok. “I just want you to go in peace and go with love,” Sonny is shown telling Mike.
It looks like we’ll see Sonny finally let go, and it will probably be something that Mike can sense – and it could be what finally allows Mike to let go himself.
It’s going to be a very emotional week on General Hospital, so fans should get their tissues ready. Fans have already been commenting in droves on Twitter about the promo and what’s to come for Mike, Sonny, and their family this week. One fan commented: “Going to be lots of tears. This has been an incredible emotional story. Bravo GH.”
And someone else commented: “I’m ugly crying at the preview! It’s going to be a sad week.” Other fans praised GH for creating a realistic Alzheimer’s storyline.

It will definitely be an emotional daytime event for GH fans as the Corinthos family rallies around Mike. We expect that things will culminate as Sonny says his final goodbye to his father.
Of course, GH fans know that Sonny has been reluctant to let go of Mike, but the time has come, and Sonny will have all the support of his family around him as he and Mike share their final moments.
