General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that avoiding consequences is common in Port Charles, but there are two characters who have turned it into an art form. Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) and Peter August (Wes Ramsey) have managed to get away with some serious crimes – at least so far.
It seems like there’s a ton of fan outrage directed toward these characters, so we want to know who deserves to pay more: Nelle or Peter? Before you make your decision, let’s think about Peter and Nelle’s many transgressions. We should also consider how much punishment they’ve faced up to now.
Nelle has a long history of targeting the Corinthos clan, but she did end up going to prison for a while. Of course, the slammer couldn’t hold Nelle for long. Once Nelle scored her freedom, she eventually attacked Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and tried to kidnap Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson).
Plus, Nelle lied about Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) stealing her baby when Nelle was the one who suggested the swap. Some viewers remain riled since Nelle didn’t pay for any of that. Nelle stands a good chance of getting shared or full custody when she was the one who first convinced Michael their son was dead!
However, GH fans can’t forget about Peter, who might be even worse. Nelle is hated by most of Port Charles, so there’s some punishment in that. Peter, on the other hand, is looked as a pretty swell guy.
There are a few people who know Peter’s trouble like Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), but plenty of others sing Peter’s praises.
General Hospital viewers will recall that Peter was touted as a hero after he saved Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) and Andre Maddox (Anthony Montgomery), but he was actually the one who ordered the hits. Peter was also behind Drew Cain’s (Billy Miller) presumed death and let Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) go down for his crimes.
Meanwhile, Maxie thinks Peter’s a good man with a kind heart. At least nobody mistakes Nelle for a wonderful gal! Peter paid a bit in the past – like when he was held captive and tortured by Liesl at that cabin. Nevertheless, Peter’s piled on the offenses since then and deserves to go down in a big way.
