General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is finally making progress in an important search. Nina tracked down retired jewelry artisan Abraham with Jasper “Jax” Jacks’ (Ingo Rademacher) help, so she was able to ask some crucial questions.
Abraham pointed out he was good with faces, but he didn’t recognize Madeline Reeves’ (Donna Mills) picture at all.
Abraham did, however, recall the special case of it being a separated heart pendant since it was highly unusual. Money wasn’t an issue for the customer who put in this request – and Abraham was able to provide Nina with the receipt from September 1991, which had the name Phyllis Caulfield on it. The name rang a bell for Nina, so now GH has provided another big clue.
Who is Phyllis Caulfield and how does Nina know the name? Since Abraham didn’t recognize Madeline’s face and Phyllis’ name was on the receipt, it’s obvious Madeline had some help.
General Hospital spoilers say Nina will open up to Jax about her mother on September 14. It sounds like Nina will tell Jax some story about Madeline that connects to Phyllis.
Perhaps Phyllis was a close friend of Madeline’s or someone she often relied upon to run errands for her. Of course, Phyllis may also have been both a friend and loyal employee.
Maybe lines blurred a bit since Madeline took an interest in lonely Phyllis or something along those lines. Phyllis might be a name that she recalls her mother mentioning over the years.
It shouldn’t be too hard for Nina to track Phyllis down to ask about the dirty work she did for Madeline – that is if Phyllis is still alive. It’s possible Phyllis is no longer living, so that’d mean Nina might have to track down Phyllis’ son, daughter or another living relative.
It might provide another hoop or two for Nina to jump through.
However, it’d be better if Phyllis is still alive and kicking. That way Phyllis could tell Nina what she remembers and why Madeline set up this big half-heart pendant mystery. Whatever the case, Nina seems to be on the verge of firm answers – and that means she should find out her child’s identity soon.
General Hospital Head Writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor have confirmed Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) is Nina’s biological daughter in multiple interviews, but there could always be a twist if they change their minds or decide to give Nina twins.
Even so, it seems likely Nelle will remain the daughter this trail leads to. Jax is helping Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) hide the fate of Nina’s flesh and blood, so that story’s just too juicy to pass up! We’ll pass along updates as other GH news rolls in.
