General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) has nothing but good things to say about one of her costars! Maxie and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) don’t share scenes very often, but their bond offscreen is strong. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Storms reflected on how close she is to Monaco and told a hilarious story about why they don’t work together more.
“I actually have a conspiracy theory about [why Maxie/Sam scenes are scarce these days]!” Storms insisted. “The last day they gave us regular scenes together, Kelly and I had a bag of cookies and for some reason, we could not keep it together.”
Storms admitted that they giggled their way through their takes and struggled to remember lines thanks to all the fun they were having. That led to some complaints on set, so Storms suggested maybe there were concerns about them having another giggling fit. “Ever since then, we have not really worked together!”
However, Storms sees Monaco quite a bit in their daily lives. They live just down the street from each other and have been staying in touch during the studio shutdown.
Storms explained that she actually has a nice little group chat going with Monaco and Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Baldwin), so they’re still laughing and checking in during the COVID-19 aka coronavirus crisis.
When Storms needs advice, she noted that Monaco is someone she feels “comfortable and safe” with. Even if it’s a moment when Storms wouldn’t want to open up to anybody else, she feels like she can confide in Monaco. Storms added that Monaco feels the same way, so these GH actresses really have a sweet connection.
“She’s like a sister,” Storms said. “It’s sad that we don’t have more on-camera stuff.” Let’s hope that’ll change down the road, especially once the truth about Peter August (Wes Ramsey) comes out. That could bring the perfect opportunity to bring Maxie and Sam together for some emotional General Hospital scenes!
