General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that as the 2020 Nurses Ball reached its conclusion, fans were left with some unanswered questions. GH’s August 21 episode really pulled out all the stops with some exciting cliffhangers, so there are plenty of shockers to talk about.
Of course, the most important one is perhaps Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson) fate!
GH fans know Julian Jerome (William deVry) chloroformed Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) before kidnapping Wiley from his room. Julian made his way down to the pier and left Wiley in the car while he faced off with Nelle.
Wiley is now completely unattended and out of their eyesight, so that certainly leaves him vulnerable.
Let’s look at what General Hospital Co-Head Writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor had to say about Wiley’s predicament.
Here are their comments regarding the kidnapping from a new issue of Soap Opera Digest: “Nelle still has one move left to make to ensure that Wiley remains part of her life, but this last gasp could put his life in danger…”
Notice they said HIS life on that danger part. Although Nelle is definitely in danger due to Julian’s gun, has Wiley really been in danger yet? The kid’s presumably just sleeping in Julian’s car. It seems like the danger for Wiley is still to come – and General Hospital spoilers back up that idea.
During the week of August 24-28, Nelle won’t have the upper hand. She’ll face a predicament while Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) works on a theory elsewhere.
Willow Corithos (Katelyn MacMullen) will get comfort from a surprising source by midweek – Michael will still be anxious by the time Friday rolls around. All of this suggests the resolution of Wiley’s kidnapping crisis won’t be simple.
If Julian were to shoot Nelle, he could just drop Wiley off somewhere safe and call in an anonymous tip. Julian doesn’t want to keep Wiley for himself; he never wanted to kidnap Wiley in the first place!
It’s Nelle who has a motive to run with her son, but what about those GH spoilers about Nelle being at a disadvantage? What about the promised danger to Wiley?
Nelle may avoid getting shot one way or another and make her escape. If Nelle can get her hands on Wiley and gets out of there, she’ll still be at a disadvantage.
The cops will be swarming all over Port Charles now – and they’ll be looking for Nelle along with kidnapped Wiley. This is far from the quick and easy disappearing act Nelle had in mind.
However, it’s hard to imagine Nelle actually hurting Wiley. Nelle would obviously slash Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Briana Lane) throat, but would she endanger her own toddler’s life? This is Nelle’s flesh and blood. Since General Hospital spoilers say Wiley’s life will indeed be at stake, that could mean Nelle and Julian will face an unexpected dilemma.
Since Wiley’s been left alone, could Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) henchman swoop in and hijack this kidnapping plot? What if Wiley vanishes from Julian’s car? Nelle reminded Julian to make sure he took the kangaroo so she could track his movements before meeting up with him.
It seems like that kangaroo could play a crucial role in finding Wiley later. Seriously, Mr. Hopsicle has practically become a cast member! Willow also referred to that as Wiley’s “lucky kangaroo” after the custody hearing, so it might truly be lucky if it helps reunite Wiley with Michael and Willow.
That’d require Nelle’s cooperation through the app on her phone, but General Hospital spoilers do point to a major showdown between Nelle and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) eventually. There might be a situation where Nelle either has to give Wiley up or help find him through that tracker.
Bottom line, it won’t be as simple as Julian giving Wiley back. Nelle will either keep her abduction scheme going a bit longer or Cyrus could complicate the mess.
