General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) secret will eventually come to light. GH viewers know Chase and Sasha faked an affair out of desperation. They felt there was no other way to convince Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) to get married, so they pretended to cheat as a last resort.
Sasha and Chase are suffering right now, but they got the outcome they wanted. Michael and Willow tied the knot, but the truth about the “affair” can’t stay under wraps forever.
Since Sasha’s spinning out and presumably headed for a drug addiction, that could play a role in the secret’s exposure. Sasha’s overdose could certainly be something that pushes Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) to come clean.
Regardless, we want to talk about how Willow will react to the news that Chase only pretended to betray her. Will Willow be moved by the sacrifice or simply hurt in a different way? After all, Chase did the wrong thing for the right reasons. This is a complicated situation that has to be looked at from every angle.
Although Chase’s fake betrayal came from a place of love, it still broke Willow’s heart. Chase manipulated Willow – and that’s not something Willow ever wanted to go through again after what happened with Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin).
Willow had a hard time trusting Chase after she left the cult, so it’s hurtful that he was willing to shatter Willow like this.
Chase also took away Willow’s choice by blowing up their relationship. He made the sacrifice so Willow wouldn’t have to, but he was still a man making Willow’s decisions for her – so more echoes of Shiloh.
However, Willow should be able to work through all her complex feelings in time. Deep down, Willow knows Chase is good at his core. This was a terrible strategy, but Willow should be able to understand that Chase thought it was the only way. He was just trying to put Willow’s happiness above all else.
Sadly, General Hospital spoilers say that won’t change anything for Willow. Willow should forgive Chase for his deception, but she’ll have to stay married to Michael for Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson) sake.
As Michael and Willow have already discussed, they can’t just bail on this marriage right after the custody battle ends. They’re in this for the long haul, so Michael will still get the girl!
That’s especially true since Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) seems poised to get joint or even full custody. Michael and Willow will have to appeal the judge’s decision if that’s the case, which means facing another lengthy court battle and standing by each other’s side.
