Gabriel knows who killed Asher. It was the FBI Agent Denise Pollock. Gabriel told Connor, Oliver, and Michaela what he saw. He told them it was the FBI agent. He even believed there might have been others involved as well and so he told them to warn them. Gabriel believed they were in danger. He tried to say more and they threw him out. They claimed he was just saying those things to make them paranoid. The trio didn’t want to believe him. They threw him out and they thought they could move on.
It wasn’t until later that they realized they couldn’t. Connor was followed on his run. He later told Michaela and Oliver about it. They tried to tell him that Gabriel had him seeing ghosts and yet Connor knew better. He was followed that night. He believed it was the FBI and they all assumed the FBI could monitoring them. It would also mean the FBI would already know about Gabriel. They hadn’t made a move to hide their voices when they talked to Gabriel and so the FBI knowing what he said and not making moves just made them appear guilty.
The trio began believing that Gabriel might have been right about the FBI. This, in turn, made Michaela and Conor question the deal they made with the FBI and what the FBI was doing. The government was going after Annalise. It was so personal for them that they were going for the death penalty and so Annalise and her team were fighting back. They were trying to get rid of the death penalty charge when Vivian reached out. Vivian had talked to Gabriel and he told her what he knew. He was so scared that his mother tried helping him.
She asked Annalise to help him. She wanted Annalise to protect him from repercussions and in exchange, he was willing to testify to what really happened. Vivian just wanted his name to be kept out of it. She told Annalise that the FBI killed Asher and she also said she could help Annalise’s case with one other thing. Vivian didn’t mention what this other “thing” was. Annalise didn’t want to play her games and so she rejected Vivian’s deal. Annalise went back to Frank and Bonnie. She told them what Vivian told her and all three eventually came clean to Tegan who didn’t want to be left out.
Annalise now knows that there’s a dirty FBI Agent. She had Frank do some reconnaissance and he followed Agent Pollock to Xavier Castillo. Frank soon realized that Pollock was trying to help get Xavier out of the country, but he put a stop it by kidnapping Xavier and Frank called Bonnie to tell her what he did. He told her he had Xavier. He then hung up on Bonnie and he began torturing Xavier. Bonnie knew what he was doing. She told Annalise and Annalise to come up with a plan. Annalise later approached Nate.
She knows Nate. Nate was still angry about everything and so Annalise gave him someone to direct that anger to. Annalise told him that Frank has Xavier. Xavier was the one that killed Nate’s father and Annalise knew he would want revenge. Annalise offered him, Xavier, as long as he back down from testifying against her. Nate took the offer because he needed answers and so he went to Frank’s hideout. He took part in torture. Nate even got answers from it. He learned that Governor Birkhead had been behind his father’s murder and he also learned that Xavier’s father had been a part of it as well.
Xavier was willing to offer up his father if it meant Nate didn’t kill him. Except Nate didn’t care about Xavier’s father. Nate killed Xavier. He did it and Frank didn’t find out about it until afterward. Frank had been asked not to kill Xavier. He didn’t do it this time and still, he would be blamed. They had needed Xavier. He could have helped prove the conspiracy against Annalise and so it’s a good thing Annalise turned to the public. She made a public statement on television saying that the government was after for being a strong black woman.
Annalise made it seem like they only wanted to kill her because she’s been a thorn in their side for years. She began getting tips later on and her public plea managed to sway Michaela and Connor. They didn’t want Annalise to die for something they know she didn’t do. They went over to Annalise’s apartment after they saw her on tv. They told her about Gabriel and they even played a video they made of Gabriel telling them who really killed Asher. Connor had secretly recorded his confession and he told Annalise she could use it to get the charges against her dropped.
Connor and Michaela didn’t care about what would happen to Gabriel. They were willing to throw him under the bus if it meant Annalise didn’t die and they wouldn’t have to testify. Both of them were actually surprised when Annalise said she wasn’t going to endanger Gabriel like that. Annalise was also recording both Connor and Michaela and so she played a tape of them admitting they were coerced into making deals with the FBI. Annalise used that tape to get a committee to drop the death penalty.
It had also gotten Connor and Michaela in trouble, but Annalise was done protecting them and she managed to save her life while she was at it. Annalise had gone back to her apartment where Vivian later visited her. Vivian was ready to say what she knew. She told Annalise that it was Sam’s sister Hannah that started this whole thing and that Hannah has been trying to get her ever since Sam died.
Only Annalise figured as much. She knew Hannah was the one that got the FBI trailing after her and so what she didn’t know was why.
And that’s where Vivian decided to come clean about what she knew.
THE END!
