Both Connor and Michaela were in trouble with Agent Langford. Langford had heard the tape of them confessing they had been coerced into confession and that they only became informants to protect themselves. It was the truth. It also violated their plea agreement with the feds. Connor and Michaela weren’t supposed to tell anyone that they were informants. They broke their deal with them just that and so Langford was going to take them to the task. He was threatening to pull their deal. Connor and Michaela each had to come up with excuses. They said Annalise had figured out they were informants on their own and they said they went her in order to get her to lower her guard.
The two were still hoping to testify against her.
Langford needed them. He had no one to replace them with and so he continued to work both Connor and Michaela. The two were safe from him. Langford needed them more than he was angry at them and the goal here was Annalise. The feds wanted to take down Annalise. Annalise meanwhile was at her apartment and she was talking to Vivian. Vivian told Annalise what really happened when Sam reached out to her. Sam reached out to her because he wanted access to his son and he wasn’t afraid to use sex to control her. Vivian soon realized what he was going. She knew he used sex to manipulate women and he she knew where he got it from.
Sam learned that behavior from his sister Hannah. Hannah and Sam grew up in a household in which they were ignored by their parents and they were both left desperate for love. They turned to each other because that’s all they had. Sam and Hannah committed incest and some part of Annalise had always known about it. She kept Hannah away from her marriage. She even accused her once of being too attached to Sam and so what Vivian said made sense. She didn’t want to admit that to Vivian. She threw Vivian out of her apartment and then she thought about the days. She thought about 2005.
Annalise remembered being depressed about her baby. She was floating through most of her days back then and so she didn’t notice Sam’s trip. Sam claimed he went to see his sister. He secretly went to go Vivian. He tried to trick Vivian into letting him see Gabriel and she tested him first. She slept with him to see if he still loved her as he claimed. He said he did and then she overheard him tell Frank that he was with Hannah. This was when Vivian realized she was now the mistress. She demanded to know what kind of game Sam was playing and Sam told her how he buried a son at eight months. And so Vivian quickly realized he was trying to use her son to replace the one he lost.
Vivian threw him out. He went running right back to Annalise and Sam spoke to Frank. He knows Frank was checking upon him. He told him never to do that again and that in no way was he going to let the man that killed his son be able to speak to his sister. That was the excuse Frank used to call him. He said he wanted to speak to Hannah and he was checking up on him, but Sam shut him down and he thought he shut him down for good and he didn’t. Frank went digging. He found out about Vivian and he warned her to stay away. Frank was also with Bonnie at the time. They were exploring things and Sam caught them at it once.
Sam talked to Annalise about it. He didn’t want Bonnie and Frank together. He said Frank was an ex-con. He didn’t think Frank was good enough for Bonnie and Annalise had accused him at the time of being jealous. She thought Sam was jealous. She said he wanted Bonnie to still be in love with him and he kept trying to say her past made her vulnerable. Sam tried to claim he knew what that was like and Annalise wasn’t having it. She said he was neglected and she also said that was very different to rape. Only looking at things now, with the way they were with Hannah, Hannah took advantage of her brother. She was the older one and she should have known what she was doing.
The Annalise that was in the present day had followed through on what Vivian told her. She had investigators look into Hannah and there was evidence of Hannah harassing the FBI to take on the case. Hannah has been trying to take down Annalise for years. She probably did it because she was jealous of Annalise for taking her man and so Annalise looked for a way to prove the incest. She needed something to take Hannah down. She figured Vivian’s information was good and she just needed evidence of it. Annalise has Tegan’s investigators looking for it and Frank has suggested going to his Aunt Bev.
His Aunt Bev went to high school with Hannah. They were friends once and so Frank pursued it. Annalise meanwhile went over the past. She knew something was off when Bonnie and Frank suddenly broke up. She suspected Sam was behind it. Sam told her he wasn’t and the truth was he did have a part in it. He made Frank break up with Bonnie. Sam didn’t think Frank was right for an abuse victim and that has made Annalise think there might have been a reason to it. Present-day Annalise talked to Bonnie. She said Sam had a way of healing abuse victims and she thinks he understood them so well because he was one.
Sam poured their son’s ashes at his parents’ gravesite. He had wanted to say goodbye and Annalise hadn’t been ready for it. The Annalise now knows that Sam had depths she never knew about. She talked it over with Bonnie and Bonnie said none of what they knew now excused what Sam did. Sam wasn’t a good person. Annalise might even have found evidence that he impregnated his sister in high school and so she wanted to use it. Annalise realized Hannah must have had her baby in March and so she tested someone for DNA. Bonnie, on the other hand, was left to her own devices. She later tried talking to Nate. She tried to get him to see that he was hurting himself with everything he’s done and not Annalise and he was too far gone with revenge.
Nate found evidence that Agent Pollock was there when Bonnie was run off the road. He handed over this evidence to Langford and he demanded Langford investigate Pollock. If he didn’t, there was no telling what Nate was going to say in open court about Annalise. Nate used his position as a potential witness to force Langford’s hand and Langford did investigate it. He found proof Pollock was dirty. He asked Nate how he knew and so now Nate needs to find an answer for him.
Connor made a new deal with Langford as well.
But the DNA test came back. Annalise tested Frank’s DNA and he was the secret love child of Sam and his sister Hannah.
THE END!
