Benson gets a case of a girl, Maria Ferraro, from Milan who is studying in New York, she is 20 years-old and is missing. At the apartment of Maria, Benson, Tutuola and Kat are there to look around. A guy and girl, Brad & Lexi, in the apartment where she was living says she moved out three or four weeks ago. They are told that Maria was staying by herself, they thought she was just social distancing. Kat finds that the carpet in her room was cleaned with bleach, and the floor underneath looks like there is an old blood stain. They next head out to the courtyard, there is a restaurant and lock looks like it was jimmied. Inside there are sneaker prints and drag marks. Tutuola finds a freezer in the restaurant, he opens it up and Maria is inside, frozen.

Benson and Tutuola are in the morgue, cause of death was axphyxiation, she was alive in the freezer; she tried to climb her way out. She hit her head as well, and it is ruled a homicide. Benson tells Tutuola to go back to the roommates and get DNA. Benson then tells Maria’s father that she is dead, he asked if she suffered and Benson says no. He says Maria wasn’t happy in her apartment, too many parties and too many drugs.

Rollins interviews Lexi who was Maria’s roommate, she claims to know nothing. Meanwhile, Tutuola interrogates Brad and says that he was in the Hamptons the weekend she disappeared and when he returned, his hockey bag was gone. But he remembers Parry left the weekend after Maria left.

Immaculate Heart Rescue Center, Kat and Tutuola go see Perry. He says the last time he saw Maria was Labour Day weekend; Tutuola tells him they need a DNA sample. He says he likes Lexi, but he left because she kept bringing random guys home.

Maria was last seen alive Saturday, everyone’s prints are in Maria’s room, Brad’s on the hockey bag but that makes sense it is his bag. DNA from Maria’s autopsy, two viable semen samples, one belongs to Brad.

Brad admits that he had sex with Maria, he says he didn’t say anything and he is sorry. He says he is engaged, and Maria was all clingy so he left. Brad’s parents say they weren’t in the Hamptons when he was, so he was alone.

Rollins interrogates Lexi with Benson, they know there was another man in the apartment the night Maria disappeared, they want to know who it was. She says it was a stress relieve hookup and she has no idea who the guy is.

Lexi tells Rollins she should have told her sooner, she is sorry. He was black, a great smile and maybe his name was Sean, she picked him up at a bar. Lexi gives up the bar name; The Rolling Barrel. The bartender knows who Sean is, Tutuola is quick to find him and ask him questions. They find Maria’s passport in his drawer, they handcuff him.

Benson and Carisi speak to Maria’s father and tells him they are close.

In the station, Tutuola asks Sean why he had Maria’s passport and jewelry, he says it was payment for edibles, Lexi gave them to him. He claims to have had a three-way with Lexi and Maria, and when he left the apartment, Maria was alive. Benson tells Rollins to put Lexi in interrogation.

Benson tells Lexi that Sean’s story is different than hers. She says she gave her weed gummies, but she didn’t know there was anything else in them, and she knows nothing about the three-way. Rollins tells her to help herself, tell the truth. Lexi says Sean is a drug dealer. Both are lying, but Benson doesn’t see Lexi being able to carry a body down the stairs. Benson tells Rollins to go back to Perry and see if he is lying, he claims to have had his headphones on all night and heard nothing.

Kat and Rollins go back to Perry, he says Maria was upset that it was so loud in the apartment, but she ended up joining the party with Lexi and Sean in Lexi’s room.

Lexi’s DNA was found all over Maria and even on her bra clasp. There were drugs in Maria’s system and alchohol. Lezi says she came out of her room, she was mad, she gave her some wine. Sean gave her some gummies, she thought they were candy. She started talking about how lonely she was and worried about her dad who is sick, she started crying and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

The edibles hit her hard, Sean started kissing her, she didn’t say no. She remembers the three of them in Maria’s bed, Maria was super high and asked Sean if they should call 911, he said he would take care of it and relax. Benson tells her that she hit her head, Lexi doesn’t know what happened and starts to cry, she asks Benson if she did it.

Lexi and Sean are arrested, Brad turns on Lexi and goes to the press against her. Tutuola goes back to see Brad and asks him more questions. He says what happened to Maria is a tragedy, but Lexi didn’t do it, Sean did it. He says he slept with Lexi because she wanted to be touched. He says he opened up Maria’s door with Lexi and Brad, it was cleaned out.

Tutuola and Kat go to Immaculate Heart Rescue Center and speak to a nun there, she says Perry brought a bag of girl’s clothes, in fact she kept one of the sweaters. Perry admits that he donated Maria’s things, he figured that she wasn’t coming back. He tells Rollins and Tutuola that he was close to Maria. He says he had his head phones on, he heard noises in Maria’s room. Rollins tells him that she knows he cared for Maria, and she was alive when she was put in the freezer. She tried to claw her way out for hours. He says he didn’t know.

He shouts that he doesn’t care about Lexi, he thought Maria was dead, there was no pulse. He was mad about the noise, he could hear them having sex. After Sean left he went into her room about violating quarantine, she said it is none of his business and pushed him away. He pushed her back, she hit her head on the pipe and he thought she was dead. He covered it up, he thought she was dead, he didn’t know she was still alive.

THE END!
