After eight long weeks, tonight is a crucial day for the five remaining couples. Tonight is the last Commitment Ceremony. This was the moment in which the couples got everything off their chests. This was also their last opportunity to discuss their relationship with the experts and hopefully, the experts will help them understand what it is they want. Some of them do know what is they want. Connie knows she wants Jonethen and she wants them to have a lasting marriage. She’s been honest about that for weeks. She’s been honest about that with Jonethen and she’s told them that’s he wants to fight for their relationship.

It was Jonethen who still needed to figure things out. He would tell Connie that he likes her and that he finds her attractive, but he tended to give her mixed signals. Jonethen would act like he wants a relationship and then he would continue to reject it as well as her when it came time for him to sit on the couch. Jonethen has been writing Leave for a while now. He writes that and then he says he’s glad she writes Stay. It’s like he doesn’t really want Connie and at the same time he wants her to want him. Jonethen told his mates before he told Connie that he was writing Leave at the next Commitment Ceremony.

Jonethen told the guys that he didn’t see a future between himself and Connie happening. He would tell them what he was feeling at all times and, in the end, he was more honest with his friends than he was with Connie. Connie had no idea what her husband was telling everyone else. She thought that they were still in a good place. She talked about it with Mishel and she tells Mishel that they still hold hands. They still joke around with each other. Connie believes she’s in a relationship that has a future and so Jonethen is to blame for her feeling like that. If he had been honest with her, then maybe Connie wouldn’t have become so invested and maybe she would able to move on.

Mishel did her best to provide advice. Only Mishel wasn’t speaking from a better position. She was in her own complicated relationship with Steve and Steve was also giving her mixed signals. Steve told Mishel a long time ago that he wasn’t sexually attracted to her. He told Mishel because he said he couldn’t keep it in any longer and so he and Mishel focused on developing a friendship if nothing else. Steve has been Mishel’s friend since then. Steve is also now telling Mishel that he is starting to become attracted to her. And Mishel doesn’t know what to think because Steve had his chance and he blew it.

Steve went on Mishel’s homestay. She asked him at the time to share a bed with her and he went out of his way to refuse it. Steve is not attracted to her. He may claim his feelings for Mishel were shifting only he wasn’t acting like it. Steve and Mishel were the first couple to go on the couch tonight. They were asked what it is they felt for each other and the couple said what they’ve always said. They said they envision a future with each other. This future may not romantic or it might eventually turn to romance at a much later on date. The couple was fine with the way things are and it was the experts that were frustrated.

The experts had to call BS on Steve’s claiming of shifting attraction. He’s not sharing a bed with his wife. He’s not passionately kissing her. He’s not physically intimate with Mishel and its time for both him and her to admit they have a friendship, not a marriage. The experts were quite brutal with Steve. They pushed and pushed until they got Steve to admit that as of now he is not attracted to Mishel. Its something the experts knew and its what Mishel knew. It was just Steve that was struggling with admitting that. He even got angry with the experts for forcing that statement out of him and he still tells Mishel that there is hope for their marriage.

It was no surprise when both Steve and Mishel wrote Stay. They still wanted to work towards a possible marriage and so neither was ready to let go. At least not just yet anyway. The next couple that was called upon was KC and Drew. The two of them had the best two days out of their relationship so far thanks to the homestays. They were finally able to overcome their first impressions of each other and they were intimate as well. The couple has slept together. They’ve also talked more and they were in such a good place that they both wrote Stay with the right intentions.

The next couple however is struggling with what happened during their homestay. Michael and Stacey were doing so well until he got an email from work. Michael was told that he has to relocate to Melbourne for a couple of months and so he’s not going to be able to move in with Stacey right after the experiment. Which was their original plan? They planned on moving into Stacey’s home and sharing their lives. They made this plan after weeks of being in a great place and so this move was going to test their relationship. It was definitely going to test Stacey’s trust. She has a reason to be wary of Michael. He cheated on her once before and being miles apart was going to be a huge temptation for him.

Michael managed to cheat once just because she went back to visit her children. She was gone for two days. He cheated on her with a supposed friend and so Stacey has a right to be fearful. She feared that being apart for months would push Michael into the arms of someone else. He did like to party. He likes to go out with his friends and, while he may claim he would stay home to facetime Stacey, Stacey won’t know what will happen until it happens. She still wrote Stay because she does want to be with Michael and he wrote Stay as well. They were going to try to do long-distance. And they were ending the Commitment Ceremony with the best of intentions.

Seb and Lizzie were next. They had a brutal homestay because Lizzie’s mother didn’t approve of Seb. She thought Seb wasn’t as settled as he should have been and that he didn’t have the means to provide for Lizzie. So, Lizzie’s mother was very tough on Seb. Her mother grilled him until he was cooked and surprisingly he didn’t lose his composure. Seb remained respectful the entire time he was at dinner with Lizzie’s family. He was kind to them and that impressed Lizzie. She has strong feelings for Seb. She let down her guard with them and told him how important he was to her. They both wrote Stay and they were each happy with that decision.

Only Connie and Jonethen were all over the place. They were especially confusing tonight. Connie came into this experiment wanting to find love so much that she’s been writing Stay consistently as her partner has been writing Leave and it wasn’t all on her. He lets her think that he’s going to write Stay. He never tells her what he’s going to do and by now he should have. Jonethen wrote Leave again. He wrote it and it broke Connie’s heart because she knew she had written Stay. She had actually needed a minute before she was willing to show her answer. She was just so devastated that she couldn’t breathe.

THE END!
