Gifts were distributed tonight. The marriage counselors thought it a critical step for the couples to share their past and so they gifted everyone their audition tapes. The couples had to watch these tapes together. The counselors knew these tapes would kick off some much-needed conversation and that’s exactly what happened. Michael and Stacey were rattled after watching their tapes. Michael said during his audition that his biggest flaw is flirtatious personality because he has been known to flirt with other women while in a relationship and so that explained what happened with Hayley.
Everyone and their mother knew Michael cheated on Stacey with Hayley. He kissed Hayley and they did some heavy petting. Hayley later admitted what happened to the group. She also said it would have gone further if it was up to Michael and so the audition tape proved Michael has a problem. The tapes also scared Michael because he found out something he didn’t know about Stacey. Stacey was cheated on in the past and she went tit for tat with her ex. She cheated on him in return for what he did. Michael realized that Stacey was known for getting revenge and so he wanted to know if there was anything she did after rumors of his cheating came out.
Michael even asked Stacey about it. She said that’s what she did in the past and that she didn’t do it now. She reminded Michael that she didn’t try to hurt him after he “allegedly” cheated on her. Stacey said she’s changed since the audition tapes although Michael realized that Stacey still likes the expensive things in life. She showed up at her audition with a Rolex and Givenchy bag. The producers noticed her expensive taste. They asked her how she’s been able to afford it and she said to ask her ex. Stacey apparently likes men who are well-off. They’re able to provide for her and all of her luxury goods.
The audition tapes had both Michael and Stacey were worried about their partner. They each had moments where they questioned the genuineness of the person next to them and they had moments where they cringed at their own behavior. In fact, everyone cringed a little at watching themselves during the auditions. Connie and Jonethen have reached a better understanding of each other and their friendship. It therefore hard for Connie to watch how she used to be. She called herself, at the time, needy. She expressed the desire to meet someone and to feel less lonely. Connie wasn’t confident at all. She was almost caving in on herself and so Jonethen got to see this new side to her.
The Connie he knew was so far removed from the audition tapes that it was like looking at two people. Connie started crying as she watched the tapes because she never wanted to be like that woman in the tape ever again and so Jonethen was kind enough to comfort her. They ended up talking about the tapes. They had a friendly conversation and it wasn’t anything like what Steve and Mishel had. Mishel had to watch herself being so hopeful and she realizes none of her hopes ever came to fruition. She didn’t get the partner she was looking for. She didn’t get the intimacy or even someone sharing a bed with her.
Mishel used to wonder where she went wrong. She thought it was something she did or said and it turns out Steve wasn’t sexually attracted to her because he was expecting someone a lot younger than her. Steve had asked the producers to match him with someone in their mid to late thirties. He never wanted to be dating someone close to his own age. It also explains why he never tried to kiss Mishel or seek out anything other than friendship. Mishel felt so relieved after watching Steve’s audition tapes. She explained everything to her and she stopped beating up herself. She wasn’t what he wanted. She couldn’t change that and neither could he.
KC and Drew were another couples left with questions. KC told producers that she wanted a man who could love her as she is and who wouldn’t want to change her, but there was still a part of Drew that thought they had very different lifestyle choices. KC was very glamorous. She had lip fillers done and her nails were always looking good. It had Drew questioning if she could ever live without those things. Drew and KC had an amazing Final Date. He put together something he knew she would love and she did. She loved going out on the harbor in a boat. She loved the champagne and the cooked meal. And Drew realized that while he may enjoy doing that every once in awhile, it wasn’t really the lifestyle he wanted.
Those audition tapes stirred things up. The couple managed to get through them and the resulting conversations they led to. Their next step was the Dinner Party. It was their final Dinner Party and their last opportunity to touch base with the other couples. It started out alright. They were laughing and sharing stories and then Steve decided to talk to Lizzie. Lizzie had a great few days. She was happy and enjoying herself with her husband Seb. Their audition tapes only made them more fond of each other and so who knows why Steve chose to confide in Lizzie of all people. He told her how he shared a bed with Mishel. He also mentioned how Mishel wanted more from it.
Mishel had wanted a kiss or a cuddle. She got neither. She has a husband who isn’t sexually attracted to her and Mishel was left miserable. Steve could sense how upset. He just did nothing to change it and so Lizzie tried to give him advice. She tried to stir him into being honest about his feelings. He wasn’t attracted to Mishel. He needed to admit that before he hurt Mishel further and he didn’t. Or better yet he couldn’t. Steve needed to be pushed on the matter and the only person that could do so was Mishel. Mishel wasn’t going to do it of her own accord. So, it’s a good thing the relationship experts stepped in.
The experts brought back the Honesty Box. Each couple was given an Honesty Box that held questions that they needed to ask each other and so this was the experts’ way of forcing everyone to confront some ugly truths. Seb and Lizzie went fist. He asked her if she was falling in love with her and she said “no”. She said she wanted to see how their relationship is in reality. She simply wasn’t ready to use the L-word and neither was he. They were working towards something here. They were going at different paces and Lizzie admitted that Seb gives more than she does. She also said she was trying to change. Lizzie didn’t want to be closed off. She wanted to be with Seb.
Drew and KC went next. Drew asked KC what she would be willing to do to maintain their relationship and she said she was prepared to fly to his hometown every week if not every other week. This was a huge step for her. The other couples at the table saw that it was a big step and so it was just Drew that didn’t crack a smile. He didn’t seem to be happy with KC’s answer. He wasn’t at the same stage in the relationship as she was and that was all revealed when she asked her question. KC asked Drew if he truly thought she was materialistic? He said yes and it wasn’t a question he tried to explain or even go into detail with.
Drew could potentially have ruined his relationship with KC. He should at least have tried to tell her why he thought that way and he didn’t. The questions kept coming from the next couple. Michael and Stacey addressed some tough issues. Michael asked her if she would still be with him if he wasn’t financially stable and she said yes. She loved the man he is now. She also didn’t need him to take care of her because she was living the good life without him. Michael’s second question was to ask about Stacey’s fears. What were her biggest fears about the relationship? It was a simple question and Stacey answered it great. She said she didn’t want to see Week 1, Michael.
Week 1 Michael was flirtatious. He was also obnoxious with the way he tried to turn everything into a joke and so Stacey likes Michael as he is now. The two bonded over their questions. Their questions gave them answers they very much needed and so it wasn’t good they got it off their chests. The Honesty Box had the opposite effect on Jonethen and Connie. Connie was asked if she thought Jonethen came in for the right reason and she doesn’t think he has. She thought again about the audition tapes. She spotted some irregularities in what Jonethen claimed and what he later told her.
Connie also noted that Jonethen didn’t take the experiment seriously. She said she always felt like he was taking the piss and the audition tape just confirmed it for her. Connie also asked him why she wasn’t worth fighting for. Jonethen tried to claim that he did try to fight for their relationship and that he had to give up after a while because he could see the relationship wasn’t going anywhere, but the truth is he never quite fought for them. The same could also be said of Steve. Steve asked Mishel how she felt about their lack of intimacy and she expressed her disappointment. Mishel came into the experiment feeling like a confident sexy woman.
Her time with Steve has worn down that same confidence. Mishel asked Steve why he hasn’t tried to kiss her and he said that he didn’t have that feeling. He also added how he has a building up of feeling. Steve keeps giving Mishel hope and it been almost cruel at this point. Mishel just wanted a kiss. A simple kiss and Steve couldn’t give her that.
Steve was asked if Mishel’s age was a factor for him and he said no because he realized dating woman closer to his own age is the direction he was ready to go.
And so that was odd because he basically said he was willing to date other women his own age. Just not Mishel.
THE END!
