Meghan Markle’s BFF Jessica Mulroney Fired From Canadian TV Gig

British royals news reveals that Meghan Markle’s best friend Jessica Mulroney has issued a lengthy apology after a lifestyle blogger named Sasha Exeter shared a video on Instagram in which she claimed that Mulroney had sent her a threat in writing (as a direct message).

This came after Exeter claimed that Mulroney had taken offense to a message she had posted, which was a “generic” call to action on her Instagram story in light of recent events following the death of George Floyd. Exeter said that Mulroney had subsequently threatened her livelihood in the course of a ongoing argument the two were having.

Exeter said that “she [Mulroney] is very well aware of her wealth, her perceived power and privilege because of the color of her skin. And that, my friends, gave her the momentary confidence to come for my livelihood in writing. For her to threaten me – a single mom, a single black mom – during a racial pandemic blows my mind.”

Mulroney then replied to the video and issued an apology. According to People, Mulroney wrote: “You are right when you say this sh&% needs to stop. As leaders, we need to join hands and call out wrongs. I know we have different experiences. And that is something that, even in the course of a heated argument, I need to acknowledge and understand. I am unequivocally sorry for not doing that with you, and for any hurt I caused.”

After that public apology, Exeter shared with her followers a screenshot of a direct message that she got from Meghan Markle’s friend Mulroney, which said: “Liable suit. Good luck.”

Mulroney then issued another apology and an explanation as post on her own Instagram feed. Mulroney said that Exeter had called her out for not doing enough when it came to the conversation over race and injustice in society, and Mulroney said that she had taken it personally and that it was wrong.

Mulroney also said in her Instagram post that she didn’t intend in any way to jeopardize Exeter’s livelihood. Rather, Mulroney stated that they had a disagreement that got out of hand. Mulroney also stated that she planned to step back from social media and allow Exeter to take over her account whenever she is comfortable and tell her story.

Following all of this, CTV decided to pull Mulroney’s reality series called “I Do, Redo” off the air. CTV and Bell Media said in a statement that they chose to pull the show because Mulroney “conflicts with our commitment to diversity and equality.”

In addition, Cityline, which is Canada’s longest-running women’s daytime TV show, announced that Mulroney would no longer appear as a guest expert on the show. And Canadian department store Hudson’s Bay had announced that they have fired Mulroney as their fashion and bridal specialist over the situation.

At the present time, there’s no word on whether “I Do, Redo” will continue on without Mulroney. And there has been no statement from Meghan Markle about the incident or her friend Jessica Mulroney’s actions. Be sure to check back here at CDL for more British royals news and updates.
