Prince Andrew’s Dispute With US Authorities – Refusing To Discuss Relationship With Jeffrey Epstein?

British royals news reveals that a very public dispute is underway between Prince Andrew’s legal team and US authorities who want to interview him about his relationship and dealings with the now-deceased alleged sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein died in prison back in 2019 after he was re-arrested on sex trafficking charges.

Well, the US Justice Department wants very much to talk with Prince Andrew and interview him, although he has repeatedly declined to be interviewed. Prince Andrew has stepped down from his royal duties over his association with Epstein, and there’s a lot of interest over exactly what he knew about Epstein’s dealings and trafficking of underaged girls.

US Attorney General William Barr was recently asked in an interview whether the Department of Justice would try to have Prince Andrew turned over to US authorities. “I don’t think it’s a question of handing him over,” Barr said. “I think it’s just a question of having him provide some evidence.”

But lawyers for Prince Andrew seem to characterize the situation differently. The law firm of Blackfords LLC, said that Prince Andrew “has on at least three occasions this year offered his assistance as a witness to the DOJ” but that “the DOJ has reacted to the first two offers by breaching their own confidentiality rules and claiming that the Duke has offered zero cooperation.” Exactly what that means is unclear.

What it appears to boil down to are the conditions under which Prince Andrew would be interviewed, assuming he were to agree to an interview. And it may have to do with some of the claims that have been made against Prince Andrew.

One of Epstein’s sex trafficking victims, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, has said in court documents that she was intimate with Prince Andrew multiple times when she was underage back in 2001.

Prince Andrew has denied that he ever was intimate with Roberts Giuffre, yet a photo of himself with his arm around her waist exists and has been widely circulated. It is also known that Prince Andrew stayed at Epstein’s home in New York City back in 2010.

Whether Prince Andrew ever is interviewed in the matter remains to be seen, but it seems that his legal team will continue to fight the prospect, and it certainly doesn’t seem that the two sides will come to any mutual agreement anytime soon.
