Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Reach Out To Fan - Offer Thanks For Charity Drive In Son Archie’s Name

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have taken the opportunity to reach out to someone who stepped up amid the coronavirus pandemic and raised a significant amount of money for the cause. It all started when a young woman named Dani Trin created the hashtag #ArchiesDay in order to raise funds for COVID-19 relief.

Trin is a university student, and she told BAZAAR.com that she chose to organize the fundraiser in honor of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s young son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor. When Archie’s first birthday rolled around in early May, Trin wanted to organize a fundraiser for it, and so she “got a group of people from Twitter on a group chat and we made it happen.”

Trin said that she and the rest of the group didn’t have a specific amount of money that they wanted to raise – rather, they just wanted to “help the charities and raise awareness for the projects people are conducting to help children through this pandemic.” It was a wonderful thing to do, and ultimately she was able to raise over $60K for charity.

Well, #ArchiesDay was such a success that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wanted to thank Trin personally, and they wanted to let the whole group responsible for the initiative know just how much they appreciated the gesture and the fundraising for such a worthy cause.

So Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a personal phone call to Trin, whom they were able to locate after she was interviewed by the magazine. It must have been a wonderful surprise for Trin.

On her Twitter account, Trin posted a message about the call, indicating a little frustration with some of the negative comments she must have received about the whole thing. “I see the usual jobless clowns are feeling some type of way about that call,” she prefaced her message.

But then Trin moved onto the good news: “As you all know, we raised over $60K USD for charity in honor of Archie’s bday last month and through the interview I gave to Harper’s Bazaar Meghan and Harry were able to track me.”

At any rate, it was a great initiative on Trin and her group’s part, and it’s wonderful that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were able to offer their thanks for a job well done and for honoring little Archie. Be sure to check back with us here at CDL for more British royals news and updates.
