British royals news reveals that Prince William and Kate Middleton have had a seemingly endless lockdown, much as we’ve all had for the past couple of months. And now, Kate is opening up about some of the difficulties that she, William, and the children have had since they were forced indoors and into isolation like everyone else.
Of course, for Royals, days under normal circumstances are filled with appointments and social engagements, and there’s a big sense of being on the go and not having much time to spare. There are engagements that William and Kate must attend on behalf of the Royal Family, as well as their own personal projects and charitable activities.
And while both Prince William and Kate Middleton have been remaining in the public consciousness via regular social media posts and video calls with various entities, they’ve obviously been unable to make in-person visits for some time now. And that includes personal visits to other members of the Royal Family as well.
For instance, William, Kate, and their three children were unable to attend Queen Elizabeth’s official birthday celebration, Trooping the Colour, this past weekend. The Queen herself only made a brief appearance for the scaled-back event, with even Prince Philip not there. William, Kate, and the children reportedly watched the event on TV.
And then Prince Philip turned 99 recently, which is a momentous birthday that the Royal Family would have liked to have been present for. But given quarantine and social distancing requirements, and especially given Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s age, it just wasn’t possible this year.
Well, according to Express.com.uk, Kate has recently spoken about the matter, saying that one of the hardest parts of the lockdown has been that the children haven’t been able to see other members of their family on a regular basis. “We hadn’t done a huge amount of FaceTime and face calls and things like that,” Kate said, “but obviously we’re doing that a lot more now, and actually it’s been really great.”
Prince William has also explained that the calls can get “a bit hectic,” and that with a 2-year-old on the call, “you have to take the phone away” as they tend to press the wrong buttons. However, William noted that it’s still a good way to keep in touch with everyone.
Kate Middleton has also apparently revealed that she has tried to explain the pandemic to the children, although they are all still quite young and she doesn’t want to scare them with information that is too heavy. “I think it’s important to acknowledge it in an age-appropriate way,” Kate has said.
And finally, a source has said that Kate Middleton has gotten quite expert at trimming the children’s hair. It seems that George, Charlotte, and Louis have been getting home hair trims from their mom, and that seems to be going well.
At any rate, it is noteworthy that Prince William and Kate Middleton and their family are dealing with the same issues related to the coronavirus lockdown that other parents across the UK and the world are dealing with – home haircuts included!
