Should The Bold and the Beautiful Do a COVID-19 Storyline When New B&B Episodes Begin Filming?

The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that there’s an important question to ask as we await new episodes: Should The Bold and the Beautiful do a COVID-19 storyline once new B&B episodes are being filmed? B&B writers could easily include the pandemic if they wanted to, but is that the right call?

There are going to be different opinions on this, but The Bold and the Beautiful is probably better off sticking to the usual story plans. In fact, B&B’s current storylines have left them in about the best position they can possibly be in once they go back to work. Why? Because most of their couples aren’t on solid ground!

There are surely going to be some extra precautions when production resumes at B&B. It seems likely kissing and love scenes will be out for a while, but that’s not a huge issue with the way things left off. Let’s consider where these stories might go from here so you can see why there’s no need to include COVID-19.

Thanks to Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) stolen kiss, they blew up both their relationships. As Brooke focuses on repairing the damage with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), he may keep Brooke at arm’s length and let his thoughts drift to Shauna Fulton (Denise Fulton).

Likewise, Katie Logan (Heather Tom) isn’t ready to forgive and forget Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). There’s also been some friction between Quinn Forrester (Rena Softer) and Eric Forrester (John McCook) since Quinn uploaded the kiss video to the digital frame.

It’s Quinn’s fault that everything exploded like it did, so we’ve got several duos who don’t need another explanation for not being lovey-dovey.

As for the whole Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden) situation, there are a few ways that could go. It’s possible Flo will have amnesia – even to the point of not remembering Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks). It’d be an easy way to explain why Flo and Wyatt aren’t making out.

Of course, Flo could also be held hostage. Either option would let Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) concentrate on winning Wyatt over. Naturally, there’d be plenty of distance between them since Wyatt would continue to long for Flo!

The Bold and the Beautiful could also focus on some business battles and corporate shakeups. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to throw in a non-romantic story or two. Since the show may face intimacy restrictions for a while, that’d be another helpful strategy.

With all that in mind, there’s really no point in doing a COVID-19 storyline. People turn to B&B as an escape and will probably be over all the coronavirus talk once the show’s back with new episodes.

Most of us prefer a break from real life when we tune in, so it’d be best for The Bold and the Beautiful to just avoid the topic and proceed as planned.
