Tonight on NBC their popular reality show Songland airs with an all-new Monday, June 8, 2020 episode and we have your Songland recap below for you. One song is chosen to be recorded by the guest recording artist and released for a global audience.”

Shane, Ester, and Ryan sit with Ben Platt to find the perfect song. They. Invite David Davis to see a song about the struggles of a relationship and willing to go through it all again. David performs the song for them. They all love the lyrics and the song resonates with them. They offer ways to improve the song.
Up next is Kylie who has a new song called Lonely. The song is about being in a big city and feeling all alone. She performs for the four. They love the song, the lyrics, and the melody. Kylie sings a. Few verses with Ben taking over. Kylie tears up after with happiness after they make a few changes.
Asked to pick just three songs from the last decade, Ben chooses Adele’s Someone Like You, Slow Burn, and anything Kasey Musgraves.
Caroline brings her song Fool’s Gold to the stage. The four love it. Ben loves the melody. They make a few tweaks and are all thrilled. Caroline needs to take a breath she is so excited.
Anna, who has eleven siblings, brings her song called Death Bed. They love the concept but make a few changes to the lyrics.
The four call back David, Kylie, Caroline, and Anne. They plan to move forces to the studio with songs from David, Kylie, and Caroline.
Ben chats with Ester and Kylie who are working on the song. They examine the melody and make some changes.
Ben then moves on to Caroline and Shane to discuss Fool’s Gold. They discuss fears, being lonely, and the theme of the song.
Ryan and David work on their song. They focus on the cadence. They simplify it and feel like it sounds right now.
Kylie returns to sing her revised song. Ben loves it. Kylie thanks Ester for all of her help while they worked together. David sings his song next. Ben loves the lyric changes. The song is clear to him now. Caroline takes the stage to sing her song. The lyrics are different but the melody is the same. They all love it.
The three songwriters return to hear Ben’s decision. He chooses David. He feels as if this is a song he feels the most.
