Chris Harrison is taking a look back tonight at Brad Womack, the guy who had two shots at being the Bachelor. We go back to 2007 and Brad’s controversial journey. Brad says that he grew up as a normal, hard-working hard. He says he lived a privileged life until his parents divorced, then they moved to a trailer. Now he has everything he ever wanted in his life, he is just missing his soul mate. Chris H. tells Brad that everyone says he is the sexiest bachelor ever. Brad really believed that at the end of the show that he would be getting down on one knee because he was going into it open-minded.

We start by seeing the women Brad gets to date on his first attempt at being the Bachelor. Brad says he feels like a movie star, getting to be around this many women. So many of the women strike a chord with Brad, he is overwhelmed. One woman Brad is intrigued about is DeAnna Pappas.

It was DeAnna and Jenni that stole Brad’s heart from the beginning, Brad was really attracted to them. His chemistry with Jenni was beyond words, every time they were together he couldn’t stop laughing, she was very generous and loving. Brad asked Jenni if she wanted to be the last girl, she said that she wants to be the girl that he falls in love with. She thanked him for being the man that she dreamt about and told him that she was falling in love with him. He tells her those are the best words she could have said to him. But, there was another woman at the end that he cared about, DeAnna.

Every time he was around DeAnna his heart would flutter. Brad said that DeAnna was the whole package, and he loved how independent she was, a stronger woman than he has ever been around. DeAnna told him that she was falling in love with him and she did want to be his final one. Brad was very confused because both women were really perfect and he never imagined his decision would be that tough.

It is Brad’s final day, this is going to be one of the most difficult things he has ever done in his life. Jenni is the first girl to walk down the path to meet with Brad. He says all the usual nice things to her, that she is beautiful and brings out the best in him. Then, he breaks her heart and tells her that he does not choose her in the end, but he cares about her and this is hurting him. She says she feels embarrassed about everything that she told him.

DeAnna is next, Chris H. walks her down the path, then she goes on to meet with Brad. He tells her that she looks beautiful, and a lot of other nice compliments. He tells her that he just said goodbye to Jenni, and – he leaves her, walks around and goes back. He tells her that he promised her that he would be honest, he has so many feelings for her, but he can’t look her in her eye and tell her that he loves her. He can’t make that promise to her, he has to tell her goodbye. DeAnna is crying, she tells him that she can’t understand how he can say goodbye to her.

He says he refuses to give her any false promise that is why he can’t give her a ring. DeAnna says she is sure, but he is not. He asks her if she knows how much he cares about her, she says she doesn’t, not now, not here. She thought she had it all figured out. He walks her out to the limo, DeAnna leaves. Brad is seen with tears in his eyes. The day was by all accounts nothing short of brutal. Brad feels lost.

At “After The Final Rose,” Chris H. asks Brad if it would have been a mistake if he had chosen DeAnna, Brad says she deserved more than some guy says let’s see if I can fall in love with you. Brad says when he went ring shopping, he had a gut feeling that this wasn’t right.

Joining Chris H. are Jenni and DeAnna via video from their homes. DeAnna says looking back at the situation, the final day, she was the most self-assured, she knew Brad was going to pick her, she had no doubt in her mind. Jenni says she felt the same, she knew he was going to pick her. Chris H. says they were just as confused as the two of them that he was just going to walk away. DeAnna says she will never forget that Brad told her that the final Rose Ceremony was going to be a good day. DeAnna just wants a straight forward answer from Brad as to why he picked nobody. Jenni says the good thing is, both women are happy today and Brad totally missed out.

When Brad got back to Austin he couldn’t believe what he did, he let it all go because he was afraid to commit. He started developing panic attacks, he would just stay at home. He felt that he hit rock bottom and was broken. He didn’t want to admit that he needed help. He ended up finding an incredible therapist.

Joining Chris H. from his home in Austin, Texas is Brad via video. Brad says he has no idea why he told DeAnna why the final day was going to be a good day. And had he known about the backlash, he would have done things differently. His mom told him that this too shall pass, and it did. Brad says when he was asked to be the Bachelor again, he was terrified and worried it wouldn’t work out a second time.

Three long years after that fateful day when Brad dumped two women, he was back to being the Bachelor. Chris H. tells him not to screw this up. Chantal arrives and gives Brad a slap in the face form every woman in America. The women in general rake Brad over the coals. That first night was actually better than Brad thought it would be most of the women just want to move on as he does.

Brad never thought he would be lucky enough to be the Bachelor again, and he is looking for something real and a woman that he can let into his life. And, he is pretty confident about the women that are there for him.

On one of the group dates, Michelle really gets bothered by Shantell because she makes her move on Brad.

Michelle gets alone time with Brad, she tells him that he has walls and says that she wants to peel the layers. On Michelle’s 30th birthday, Brad gave her a rose. The other women are not a fan of Michelle, they find she is too aggressive. One night, she takes Brad alone in a room and gets really aggressive with him – she sits on his lap, kisses him, and tells him that next time they are together they can talk – meaning after the rose ceremony when he chooses her to stay in the house. Then on another night, Michelle has an argument with Brad about her getting into his business about his date with Shantell.

Brad really likes Michelle, but he doesn’t like it when she gets into his business, she even called him out on keeping certain women. In the end, Michelle was sent packing. Brad walks her out, she won’t hold his hand and purposely walks with a foot or two distance between them. All the way to the car, Michelle won’t talk, she just gets in and leaves. In the car, Michelle doesn’t shed a tear, but she looks angry.

We join Michelle from Utah, in her home, via video. Michelle says that at the time she was surprised that Brad sent her home, but clearly it would not have worked out, so it all worked out for the best. She says it is interesting to see how the show evolved, then she says she is so thrilled that Claire is the next Bachelorette – she is looking for a real man and wants someone to fight for her. Michelle says she is happy, she found the true love that she wants to spend the rest of her life with. Michelle’s daughter appears on camera, she is doing much better after she had a traumatic skateboarding accident.

Back to Brad’s second attempt at finding his happily ever after. Brad takes Ashley to a carnival, just the two of them and he has the time of his life. He says that she is the entire package, intelligent, pretty. They get into a deep conversation and find out that the two have a lot in common when it comes to their childhood. The two are falling hard for each other. When they are alone, he asks her what happens when she starts her career. She says one of her faults is that she needs to achieve.

The two have come so far, but he had concerns about where she is in her life because to him, it appears that where she is, is where he was ten years ago. He tells her that they are getting towards the end and he is freaking out. He could propose to her in a week and he doesn’t know if he fits into her life, he tells her that he has to say goodbye. She lets him take her hand, he walks her out. She tells him that she is surprised, heartbroken, and hurt. He tells her ok, he respects that and lets her get in the limo.

Even though it didn’t work out for Ashley, she went on to be the Bachelorette and find the man of her dreams, and be married by Chris. H. Ashley and JP join Chris H. from their home in Miami. JP says they are homeschooling, but holding in there. They have two children. Ashely says she looks back when she was with Brad and it doesn’t seem like she is the same person. JP says he never watched the season. Ashley says it wasn’t tough to be the Bachelorette, she was ready. They two have been married for eight years.

Brad is with Chantel, on their date they walk on the ocean floor. He is so comfortable with her and he is so himself, he has the best time with her. He sees a lifetime of excitement with her and he loves it. He asks her if she wants to get married again, she says totally. On the other hand, Chantel says that Brad makes her feel like the most special person in the world, but it really bothers her that the other woman feels like they are having the same experience. In tears, Chantel tells Brad that if he doesn’t feel for her, she wants him to send her home.

Then, later on in the show, she tells him that she has fallen in love with him. He asks her why she thinks that. She says there has been a change in her, a change in her heart. It’s the fact that she wants to be better for him and she wants the best for him. As the weeks have gone by her love for him has grown and grown. Brad tells her that he is the most comfortable when he is with her. She tells him to throw caution to the wind, they should get married and skip the engagement. He smiles and tells her that he loves her spontaneity.

Only two women remain, Chantel and Emily. We get a glimpse back at Emily and Brad, she tells him that she did find the love of her life. He was a race car driver, he flew somewhere and his plane crashed, he died. It was the darkest period of her life. And then, on that Friday, she found out that she was pregnant, and now she is the happiest mom to a five-year-old girl. She didn’t tell him before, because she wanted him to like her as a person and not put all this stuff in between them. Brad tells her that he likes her a lot and he is glad she told him what she did.

The way Brad feels now is when people start a future together. Brad has an opportunity to meet Emily’s daughter, she is adorable and very shy. Brad buys her daughter a present, a butterfly kite and they all fly it together. They have a wonderful day together. His relationship with Emily grew slowly but has come so far. Once her daughter is in bed, Emily tells Brad that she can see herself completely falling in love with him. Emily says she is genuinely happy and falling in love with Brad, and she tells him. Brad tells Emily that he is falling in love with her too and there is one week to go before he makes his final decision.

It is time for Brad to make his final decision, he is so exhausted, he has to decide between two incredible women. Chantel has known that she loves Brad for a while, but what if she is wrong about how he feels about her. She is really scared, terrified. When Emily thinks of leaving without Brad, it breaks her heart. She has already pictured what her life would be with Brad, her daughter in Austin, and if that doesn’t happen, it would break her heart. This is by far one of the biggest days of Brad’s life, but first, he has to say goodbye to one woman who is going to cause a lot of heartaches.

Chantel is the first out of the limo to meet Brad. He goes on to say nice things about her, how wonderful she is. Then he says he doesn’t know how to say it to her, but he has stronger feelings for someone else and he is so sorry, everything he has said from the beginning he has meant, from the bottom of his heart. She tells him that he is an amazing person, and Emily is lucky, but it sucks because she felt so strongly for him. Chantel is heartbroken, she leaves.

Chris H. joined Chantal at her home via video. She says the time has gone so fast, it seems like a lifetime ago. She says when she slapped Brad in the face, she probably did a lot harder than she meant to. She goes back to when she went home after the breakup, it was like a shell shock. Chris H. says a lot of people don’t know that she said no to being the Bachelorette. She says it wasn’t a matter of saying no, she went on a blind date and they have now been married eight years and have two awesome children.

Time for Brad to propose to Emily. Brad tells Emily that she looks fantastic and it is not the first time she has taken his breath away. Brad tells her that she is it, his once in a lifetime. Then he asks her to be his best friend, let him protect her and her daughter, and let him love her for the rest of her life. Brad gets down on one knee and he asks Emily to marry him, she says yes. They hug and tell each other they love one another. She tells him that he has made her the happiest girl in the world.

Unfortunately, Brad and Emily didn’t last.

Emily joins Chris H. from her home in Charlotte, NC via video. Emily says it looks like a lifetime ago, well four kids ago. She says it was a great story, but it didn’t last. She was 24 back then and didn’t have the maturity to deal with that. They both put an effort into it, traveling back and forth, but it didn’t work. He texted her after her wedding. She did become the Bachelorette, but that didn’t work out either. Her four kids and her husband come on camera. Emily tells Chris H. that she met her husband at church.

We check back with Brad in his home via video. Brad says when he looks back, it is all good memories and he wouldn’t change a thing. He was in love with Emily, he fell hard for her. At the end of the day, he thinks they were two different people and had different ideas on what they wanted in the future. It was a brutal breakup because he was in love with her. He says they both moved on.

Chris H. asks Brad if he would be the Bachelor a third time, Brad says no. Life is good, he works a lot and spends a lot of time with his family. He has a new lady friend and introduces her to Chris H. and viewers, her name is Jenna, they met at the gym, they were both working out together. She knew about him being on The Bachelor, but she knew him more about being at the gym. They both look genuinely happy together.

THE END!
