The Baker and the Beauty begins tonight with Daniel “Danny” Garcia (Victor Rasuk) baking as he listens to Mateo Garcia (David Del Rio) singing. His father, Rafael Garcia (Carlos Gomez) jokes with Mateo telling him that he can pay the bills when he hits it as a big singer. Daniel says he is taking the van as Vanessa (Michelle Venitimilla) and he is going out to celebrate their anniversary; someone comments on Vanessa expecting a marriage proposal soon as their mother, Mari Garcia (Lisa Vidal) walks in. Mateo mocks his mother about leaving the milk out as everyone is in menopause, she chastises him.
Natalie Garcia (Belissa Escobedo) is pricing items in the bakery and agrees with everyone else that girls like Vanessa expect proposals. Natalie only wanted to help her mom in the bakery, but her father wants her to do her homework and get into Princeton; feeling she is the only one in the family that can make it to the Presidency if she wanted to.
Everyone taunts Danny as he agrees that Vanessa is a bit much but she is driven, smart and ambitious; one day she may be his wife but tonight it is just dinner. Meanwhile, there is news to report on Noa Hamilton (Nathalie Kielley) is now single because her ex-boyfriend was cheating on her. Natalie talks to her mother about Noa, saying how famous she is. It is stated that Noa is there in New York for some fashion shows. Rafael comments on how his wife, Mari looked just like her when they began dating.
That night, Danny is out to dinner with Vanessa, who wants the $300 per person meal experience. She asks him to think about the house she showed him because they could really fix it up, but he chokes when she mentions there is even room for a nursery. He has the waiter show him to the bathroom; he notices all the pictures of all the famous chefs. He tells the photo that Mateo is right, feeling, either way, he is screwed about this proposal. As he is finally able to use the urinal, Noa Hamilton emerges from one of the stalls. She tells him if he needs to talk himself into something maybe he should just stop talking. She knew exactly what he was doing, making him smirk as she catches him in a few white lies. She advises him to try the soup there as everything else sucks.
He does have the soup as Vanessa tells him everything is comfortable. She reminisces about their first date, reminding him that anything she wants she goes after; something he loves about her. She stands up, clicks a glass, asking for everyone’s attention as it marks 4 years since she and Daniel fell in love. She thought this was the perfect place, as the musician begins to play and she sings the song, “Love Story” by Taylor Swift. She presents him with a box, asking him to marry her. He shifts uncomfortably as she awaits an answer. He wants her to sit down but she wants him to say yes and put the ring on her finger. He doesn’t want to talk about it there, so she wants him to slip it on temporarily. Daniel finally says, No!” She is furious, asking him to look at how much she loves him and is yes too much? She dumps the soup all over as Vanessa informs everyone in the restaurant she is 28 and officially single and to google her if interested.
Outside, Daniel talks to Mateo, who kn0ows he dropped a nuclear bomb on her. Mateo cannot come to pick him up as his gig as MC Cubano at his sister’s school dance. Noa stops her truck, asking Daniel if he wants a ride as she feels responsible because he picked the soup. After a little hesitation, he gets in the truck and is introduced to her best friend, Piper (Georgina Reilly), her stylist Zoe and her “rude manager” Lewis (Dan Bucatinsky). They turn to Daniel and say it is his night, they will do whatever he wants; even after he squawks about needing to be at work in the morning.
Noa makes Lewis give Daniel one of his shirts, saying it is cashmere. Piper calls Lewis a snob and he thanks them for fulfilling his first wish. She will fulfill his next wish after he does her a favor; they hook themselves up and scale down a hue billboard of her, painting graffiti on it.
Vanessa is at home drunk, smashing her glass, enraged over what Daniel had done. She feels she might be overreacting as the proposal was her idea. Jenna (Brooke Butler) agrees as she continues with Daniel is Cuban and has pride. She knows that Daniel loves her, now Vanessa feeling like she is being overly dramatic. She worries that Daniel is probably wallowing worried about losing her.
Daniel is having a blast painting, but won’t reveal how much fun he is having until he is firmly back on the ground. He reveals to Noa that his family owns a bakery and the entire family work there. Noa learns they are all close but when Daniel asks her about her family she doesn’t answer as she notices that Daniel is changing the mustache on her face into a butterfly. She likes that he is full of surprises.
Mari finds Rafael on the computer, but he claims to be weary. She shows him her sexy lingerie and he follows her upstairs; the two about to make love when the house phone rings and it is Vanessa who wants to talk to Daniel. She is surprised that Mari hasn’t heard from him but doesn’t let her know what is really going on.
At the school dance, Natalie sits and scrolls through the lesbian chat room when one of the students approaches her about the DJ being her brother; something she denies. Mari calls Mateo looking for Daniel, he reveals what happened at the restaurant. She is angry that he didn’t tell her so he promises to go find him. Mateo calls and Danny tells him he is with Noa Hamilton and they are painting the picture. Mateo apologizes and hangs up as Lewis orders them to hurry up as a crowd is gathering. Mateo hooks the DJ equipment up to his phone and tells Natalie he needs her help. He grabs her phone and realizes where their brother is, leaving Natalie angry.
He arrives at the Gordon Hotel, realizing his brother was telling him the truth. Noa takes her group to another spot, where she keeps getting messages from Colin, her ex. Lewis knows her too well but she doesn’t want to crack. She insists they are just having fun with the “baker boy”. He reminds her that when the time comes, she needs to tell him and he will take care of it. Lewis deals with the press as Noa gets the chef to allow Daniel into his kitchen to make dessert; shocking Lewis.
Daniel watches as Noa works the dough. He jokes that his look is a supportive face, telling her she wants to roll it, not kill it. She is having a great time, joking that he looks spotless and she looks like a crime scene. He says she impresses him as most people will feel foolish to try something new but she is fearless. She appreciates the compliment, smacking her hand to not touch until pastries have cooled. Lewis interrupts them, saying a word has gotten out about them being there and they need to go before this ruins “Julio’s” life.
Mari is upset that the kids are usually glued to their phone and now that it is an emergency, nothing! Rafe says he is fine as Mari can’t believe he said no, but she is relieved. Vanessa had good qualities, but her son could do so much better. He reminds her that Vanessa may have been easy to tease but it won’t be that easy to replace her. Natalie walks in, Mari disappointed it is only her. Natalie informs them she is extremely embarrassed that she is a charity case and she is now the sister of MC CUBANO.
Mari comes to her bedroom, admitting she doesn’t know what she is going through, but she knows what it is like to be 15 and dealing with teenage boys. She knows the church frowns on birth control but there is nothing wrong with a girl having some protection. Mateo rushes in, taking his phone back and reveals to his family that he has reason to believe that Daniel is out with Noa Hamilton. Mari thinks that is garbage as both parents yell at him in Spanish. Natalie checks her phone and reveals that he is right, showing them photos of Daniel at dinner with Noa; something Mari approves of immediately. Suddenly Vanessa arrives at the house, calling for Daniel, no one knowing what to do.
Mateo tells her that he gave Daniel some of their mother’s pills and it knocked him out. She demands to be let in the house but he says she is wrong to come right now because Vanessa did something gr4eat for him, giving him a chance to see what life will be like without her. Half the night the family has been sick worried about him, so she is to go home and when they both have slept the craziness of the night off and return tomorrow as it is a new day.
Lewis stays on the phone as Daniel watches Noa with a man; Piper comes over to tell him the man she is speaking to is the owner of the night club. He’s got nothing on her and encourages him to join Noa on the dance floor. Noa and Daniel connect eyes and he begins to sway to the music, causing her to start moving too; she leaves Alexi’s side and joins him dancing. Meanwhile, Lewis is just shaking his head at their connection. He gets an exciting message from his sister, Natalie and tells Noa he is ready for his second wish. He smiles and Natalie gets a call from Noa, who tells her all about the date. She squeals, saying Noa is amazing, talented and an incredible role model and her ex is an ass. She reveals she knows about her being at a new school, she has been there; promising that if she is even half as charming as her brother, she will be fine. Daniel gets the phone back but Natalie tells him to talk to Noa as she really likes him.
Noa thinks it is great everything he wished for, informing him that when she asked her ex, Colin, what he wanted for his birthday, it was a threesome with her best friend. She should have known better but she just wanted to believe. He understands that completely as he thinks about Vanessa and how to be fair to her if he knows what that is. Noa wants to know what he wants. He thinks about it and wants what his parents have as it is magic the two of them; even though their fights, they just make each other better. She tells him not to settle and go find it. He thinks it is easy for her as she has access to the world and he doesn’t even have a passport. She says they can get him one as he still has one more wish. The two lean in for a kiss but when cameras flash they pull back and return to the club.
Daniel goes to get Noa a drink as she joins her friends on the dance floor; unfortunately, she stands still when Colin appears. Daniel looks for her as she accuses Colin of stalking her. He insists nothing is true as his agent felt the affair would be good press. He came halfway across the planet to tell her he loves her. She applauds his performance as he holds her hand, saying this is real. Lewis approaches Daniel and tells him if he leaves now it will be a win. He thinks Daniel is a good guy and wants him to leave before he gets humiliated. Daniel knows Lewis doesn’t like him as Lewis explains how many times she finds normal guys she takes a shine to; something she does after every heartbreak. He says she will quietly tell him when he is about to fall in love that this isn’t reality. He stays he can stay and watch it happen for the next few hours of he could leave with his dignity. Daniel takes off the shirt and wants nothing from any of them.
Daniel walks shirtless down the streets even into the morning light. He puts on a shirt he just bought at the store and spots a crowd on the streets. He isn’t sure what is going on but the family bakery is packed with people. Natalie shows him that Noa put hashtags revealing the name of their bakery and that is why they are packed; saying Noa has changed their lives. Mateo rushes over, kissing him like a hero. His mom and dad praise him telling him to rest up as Mateo still wants to know if he slept with Noa. He begins singing a new song called, “He’s the baker and she’s the beauty!”
Vanessa is waiting for her phone to blow up and give Daniel a second chance but Jenna shows her the IG post, causing Vanessa to race over to the bakery, shoving patrons out of the way. She demands to know where Danny is; no one helping her. At home, Mari wakes up Daniel, saying there is someone there to see him, outback. Daniel comes down the stairs and it is Noa, causing him to look confused. She reminds him that she still owes him a wish; they both smile!
