The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers predict that B&B will lead the scripted television ratings starting next week. As has been reported by CDL, this iconic soap opera will broadcast its first new episode on July 20.
The production shutdown that occurred in mid March led to the last new episodes airing on April 23. Just shy of three months later, B&B has a full week of new episodes ready to air.
Days of our Lives is the only broadcast network soap opera to still be showing new episodes, as it shot eight months in advance. The other three steamers, which include The Young and the Restless and General Hospital, are believed to have ran out of new episodes in April and May respectively, as that is when the last new shows were seen.
However, B&B had two new episodes that were ready to air, but didn’t broadcast. Those episodes will be seen next week, along with new shows that have recently been recorded.

B&B has been averaging approximately one and a half million daily viewers in recent weeks. While that’s less than half of what the show had been averaging when new shows last aired, the number does reflect viewer loyalty.
DOOL has been vying with Y&R for the top ratings spot in recent weeks, which is interesting. Even though new episodes of Days were available, a significant amount of fans of the other three shows haven’t switched to DOOL, or added the soap to their daily watch list.

So, it’s reasonable to predict that B&B will top the daily and weekly scripted daytime ratings starting next week. Y&R has basically equaled DOOL, which implies that B&B’s sister show has remained a solid lead-in.
Fresh content drives soap operas due to the serialized format that hooks viewers to the ongoing storylines. B&B fans have been patiently, or maybe not so patiently, waiting for their favorite soap to return and will surely be watching when new episodes begin airing next week.
Whether that episode’s ratings will match the three to three and a half million live daily viewers that the last new episodes of B&B generally earned in the spring will soon be known. It will also be intriguing to see how much of the anticipated returning audience holds as next week proceeds, or if ratings increase.
Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – New Episodes Available But Not Shown
TV Line reported that B&B actually didn’t broadcast all of the new episodes that were available in late April. Apparently two episodes were held back and will air this week, along with the newly recorded episodes. That decision was surely strategic, as TPTB didn’t know, at the time, how long production would be shutdown, while also needing to consider how resumed storylines would be presented.
As fans recall, B&B returned to work for one day in mid June, adjusted its testing procedure and then resumed production during the week of June 22. Production has taken place since with no further stoppages.
