The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) future is still uncertain, but her unnamed diagnosis is a good sign. If B&B had given Sally something we’d all heard of and knew would lead to her death, it’d be harder to accept a miraculous recovery.
By not revealing anything for sure, it makes it much easier for B&B writers to undo Sally’s march toward a grim fate.
That’s undoubtedly something The Bold and the Beautiful’s writing team considered as they worked out the details of this storyline. It was left open, which means Sally could die in a month as her doctors have predicted or beat the odds with a miracle cure.
Naturally, most fans are hoping for the latter. It’d be a shame to lose Sally, who’s become a pretty beloved character during her run on the show.
Of course, the fact that Sally is beloved is also concerning. After all, B&B Executive Producer and Head Writer Bradley Bell insists that a beloved character will be killed off in 2020.
It’s still entirely possible it’ll be Sally, although plans do change behind the scenes from time to time. If you want to keep Sally around, be sure to make your voice heard through social media and by sending feedback to the show!
Sally’s popularity could end up working in her favor along with this open-ended mystery diagnosis. It’s flexible, so Sally may pull through. The Bold and the Beautiful keeps emphasizing how Sally is a fighter and a survivor.
They might as well let Sally prove it by showing her doctors what can-do Spectra spirit looks like. Maybe Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) can give Sally the encouragement she needs.
However, there’s an important question to consider if Sally survives. Since Bell promised a beloved character death this year in Soap Opera Digest, someone will indeed be killed off.
If not Sally, then who will bite the dust? B&B fans are definitely eager for updates and news on this looming shocker. Someone like Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) might fit the bill since she’s beloved, but her absence wouldn’t really affect storylines.
The same goes for characters like Pam Douglas (Alley Mills) and Charlie Webber (Dick Christie). There’s also a chance B&B will fib a bit on the definition of beloved and kill off someone like Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes).
We should also consider the possibility that an offscreen character will die – much like Caroline Spencer (Linsey Godfrey) did last year. What about Rick Forrester (Jacob Young) or perhaps an Avant family member?
A death like that would bring some drama and could potentially jumpstart a story for Maya Avant (Karla Mosley), who many viewers miss.
