The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Jacqueline MacInnes Wood’s (Steffy Forrester) maternity leave is coming up down the road. Wood is expecting her second child, which means she’ll eventually have to step away from The Bold and the Beautiful for a bit.
With that in mind, we should start thinking about what B&B writers will use as Steffy’s excuse.
Steffy is currently involved in a hot new romance with John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), so she’ll need a reason to suddenly pump the brakes and head off canvas.
Since Steffy and Finn still haven’t made love, it’s becoming less and less likely that the show will write in Wood’s pregnancy. The writers may have a different temporary exit plan in mind.
Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) clearly needs professional help, so that could tie in what takes Steffy out of the picture. The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Thomas’ storyline is building to a stunning conclusion – one that hopefully opens Steffy’s eyes to just how much assistance her brother needs.
Thomas may need treatment off screen, so this would be an easy temporary departure strategy for Steffy. She cares about Thomas and his well-being, so she might travel with him to some out-of-town psychiatric facility.
Thomas will need support following his diagnosis to get better, so Steffy may be the one to offer that support.
Of course, there’s a chance Finn could go with Steffy since his storyline is so tied to her. The Bold and the Beautiful could backburn “Sinn” while they focus on other plots and characters. There are plenty of other options as well, including the potential to temporarily recast Steffy.
However, it would make sense for Steffy to be there for Thomas, especially since she got the help she needed for her drug addiction. Thomas’ issues are obviously different, but Steffy still understands the value of having someone to support you every step of the way like Finn did for her.
Perhaps Steffy will resolve to make sure Thomas never feels alone while he’s in treatment. Steffy might stay near the treatment facility and do her best to be Thomas’ rock. We’ll provide updates as other B&B news becomes available.
