The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Tina Huang will reprise her role as Dr. Campbell, so it’s time to think about what that means for the show. Dr. Campbell was Steffy Forrester’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) doctor back in 2017.
She helped Steffy by running a DNA test since Steffy couldn’t be sure whether Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) or Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) was the father of her baby.
Of course, the paternity test proved Liam was the “baby daddy,” so Liam was given the title of father to Kelly Spencer (Avalon and Collette Gray). Still, doubts were raised about whether the results were actually legit.
Bill was spotted near the lab at one point, which left many fans wondering if the results might’ve been tampered with.
Don Diamont has been open about his desire for B&B to follow up on this paternity change possibility. Based on his comments in various interviews and on social media, Diamont sees a lot of potential in a story like that.
Naturally, we can’t ignore that The Bold and the Beautiful is now bringing back the very same doctor used in that 2017 storyline.
It’s possible B&B will use Dr. Campbell for a brand-new story, but why not use a brand-new doctor then? Could there be a reason the show wanted Dr. Campbell in particular?
It’d be interesting if Dr. Campbell was bribed to keep her mouth shut about Kelly’s true paternity – or perhaps discovers a mistake years later.
There’s been a ton of emphasis on Liam’s bond with Kelly lately, so that could be in preparation for a paternity twist. Just imagine Liam’s horror if he’s not Kelly’s dad after all!
Liam would really have the rug pulled out from under him. That seems like the kind of story that could lead to some solid Daytime Emmy reels from all the key players.
We should also point out an intriguing clue about Bill’s future. The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Bill and Katie Logan (Heather Tom) will tackle a challenge that takes over their lives somehow. There’s a huge story coming up involving Bill and Katie in 2021, which will make or break them as a couple.
Could Katie support Bill in the aftermath of a paternity switcheroo? This would stir up so many strong emotions and destroy Bill’s relationship with Liam all over again.
It also fits with Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) becoming a bigger part of the story and being there for Liam during tough times – which is what B&B spoilers confirm will happen in the months ahead.
Bottom line, there’s no guarantee Kelly’s paternity will change, but it’s certainly an option on the table based on all the available clues. It would bring some major drama and pull tons of characters into the chaos, so we’ll see if that’s the route B&B writers take.
