The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Monday, December 14, reveal that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) tried to calm Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) down, but as he lay in his hospital bed, he became more and more agitated about what he did.
Thomas moaned that he didn’t want to be like this and that he worked so hard not to be, and he felt horrible for kissing the mannequin. “What is wrong with me?” Thomas lamented.
Hope told Thomas to take a breath, and she assured him that he wasn’t a threat to anyone and that he had experienced a traumatic brain injury.
Hope rehashed the details of how John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) noticed that something was off and alerted Hope, who remembered Thomas falling and hitting his head. “I’m so ashamed that you saw me like that,” Thomas wailed.
Hope explained that Thomas’ fall caused a subdural hematoma that made him see delusions. Thomas was thankful to hear that he wasn’t “crazy” or a danger to Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri).
Thomas wondered if Hope still thought he was obsessed with her, and Hope said that Thomas had a medical condition and wasn’t responsible for his actions.
Thomas then told Hope that he wasn’t obsessed with her any longer, but that he did care for her. “I accept the decisions that you’re making with your life, but you’re the mother of my child and I’ve always loved that about you. I’ll always love you,” Thomas said.
Meanwhile, over at the cliff house, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) told Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) that he couldn’t tell Hope about their affair, since it would blow up his marriage and her relationship with Finn.
Steffy said that she was just as responsible for the affair as Liam, but he didn’t readily agree on that.
Liam fumed that he should have confronted Thomas that night instead of leaving the apartment without fully understanding what was going on. Steffy said that they needed to protect Hope and Finn, and that what they did was wrong but that in the moment it felt right.
Steffy and Liam agreed that in that moment, it felt like they were becoming a family all over again.
Steffy and Liam talked a bit about their special connection and their mutual love for each other, and Steffy said that she’d never regret one moment they’ve shared together.
“However this turns out, I’ll be fine,” Steffy said. Liam said that Kelly Spencer (Avalon and Colette Gray) had a good role model, and he and Steffy gushed about their daughter.
Talk soon turned back to the mistake that Steffy and Liam made, and they chalked it up to a momentary feeling where it seemed like a door was opening. “It doesn’t diminish my connection with Finn or your love for Hope,” Steffy said. “For a brief, shining moment there, the wish almost came true,” Liam said.
Over in the Forrester CEO office, Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) chatted about Zoe’s wedding dress search, which Zoe said she’d been too busy to do.
Carter reminded Zoe that there were plenty of world-class designers on hand at Forrester to make her a dress.
Suddenly, Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) rushed in and told Carter and Zoe all about what had happened to Thomas. Zoe was stunned as Zende explained that Finn was the first to notice subtle changes in Thomas’ personality.
Zoe immediately felt compassion for Thomas and Douglas, and Carter said that Zoe was amazing for forgiving Thomas and for being so concerned. Zende winced as Carter praised his wife-to-be.
