The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) is facing a terribly difficult situation. As B&B viewers know, she’s been given a terminal diagnosis with approximately a month left to live, but viewers aren’t privy to the exact diagnosis that she’s received. All we know is that it is terminal, in an advanced stage, and that there’s no cure or even a clinical trial that could help.
Of course, for viewers it’s a pretty frustrating situation to not be told the exact nature of Sally’s illness. From everything that’s happened on the show, from using the term “advanced stage” to the nature of Sally’s symptoms, it really seems like the diagnosis would be some sort of brain tumor that is inoperable and that will soon take her life. But it seems that TPTB have made a decision to keep the illness a secret from the audience.
It could be that the show wants to keep the possibility of a miracle cure possible, and that TPTB are hoping that it will be easier to explain a miracle cure in the absence of a formal diagnosis.
So far, both Katie Logan (Heather Tom) and Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) have commented about the need to get second opinions and perhaps fly in specialists from around the world for Sally.
Well, right now Sally’s not in the right mindset to consider those options. She’s fully under the belief that her diagnosis is final and the that a second opinion isn’t needed.
But right now she’s in shock and obviously isn’t thinking clearly. But what will happen once Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) finds out about her diagnosis? According to B&B spoilers, Katie will soon tell Wyatt about Sally’s diagnosis, and surely Wyatt will make a beeline for Sally once he’s processed the information.
Now, if anyone can get through to Sally in terms of getting second opinions or seeing specialists, it will be Wyatt. Sally will probably initially try to protest, saying that she doesn’t want to accept Wyatt’s help, but something tells us that when Sally and Wyatt actually sit down to talk and Sally finally accepts his help, then he’s going to want to do something. And he’s got a great resource at his disposal: Bill.
Perhaps Bill will be able to contact someone abroad who specializes in whatever Sally’s got. There could be an experimental treatment regimen that Sally could try, or even a part of a clinical trial in another country. Miracles do happen on soaps, and you never know…Sally could get one.
We’ll see what happens here, but it seems that there must be a reason why B&B is keeping a lid on Sally’s illness. We suspect that there are a lot of fans hoping for a miracle cure, or even that the hospital made a terrible mistake in their diagnosis.
Of course, if the hospital made a mistake and caused Sally all this needless anguish, that would be a good storyline in and of itself!
