The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) may find herself drawn to the familiar. B&B fans know Steffy’s been getting to know Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), who represents a fresh start romantically.
This is something viewers have been asking for, so it’s nice to see Steffy connecting with someone besides Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton).
However, this is B&B we’re talking about! Love is never simple on The Bold and the Beautiful – and Liam is always going to be a huge part of Steffy’s life. Now that Steffy’s poised to battle addiction, it could leave her clinging to the past rather than looking to the future.
It’s easy to imagine Steffy longing for the comfort of what she already knows, even if it isn’t ideal.
In difficult times, it’s pretty common for people to drift back to old relationships. Liam and Steffy have faced plenty of highs and lows over the years. They’ve seen each other at their best and at their worst. Despite Liam’s waffling tendencies, he’s been a constant in Steffy’s life – at least in one way or another.
Starting a new romance while dealing with an addiction seems awfully challenging. As Steffy’s drug battle tightens its grip on her, she might shove Finn away. Steffy may not want Finn to see her like this. She might fear Finn will look at her like a statistic – just another hooked patient who let herself spiral out of control.
Of course, Finn most certainly would NOT see Steffy that way. That’d be all in Steffy’s head, but she’s sure to be in a dark, fragile state of mind. Steffy may prefer opening up to Liam – her security blanket and the father of her child.
Since Kelly Spencer (Avalon and Collette Gray) is involved here, there’s always the risk of custody issues. However, Kelly is also something that could bring Liam and Steffy together if that’s how B&B wants to take things.
Steffy might reach a broken place where she feels like she can’t be a good mother. Liam could remind Steffy that she’s a great one and can beat this if she accepts help.
It’s just tough to believe The Bold and the Beautiful will ever ditch “Steam” entirely. Steffy could easily find herself confused over everything she’s dealing with and lean on Liam instead of Finn. Liam is Steffy’s comfort zone, so that’s important to keep in mind.
Nevertheless, Steffy should have a chance at a bright future beyond Liam. No matter what happens in her darkest times, Steffy will eventually be in a better headspace. “Sinn” is the couple to root for at this point, so good things should be brewing for Finn and Steffy.
